Brock Lesnar went on the 11am ET edition of SportsCenter to talk about his health and future within in the UFC.

The bottom line, Lesnar is feeling better, has returned to training and will return to the UFC to defend his heavyweight belt against the winner of Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir --which is still for the interim title-- later this year, maybe even this summer in Boston.

There were doubts about Lesnar's possible return to the sport after he was diagnosed with diverticulitis late last year. Diverticulitis is caused by inflammation, or bty a small tear in a diverticulum (abnormal pouches that form in your digestive tract). At one point Brock lost forty pounds inside the hospital as he was being fed through an IV. Lesnar said that doctors told him he needed surgery as there was a tear and surgery would cause his fighting career to end.

However Brock made a full recovery despite never undergoing surgery. Lesnar said there was no risk to his health by fighting again. Lesnar dubbed it a miracle and said, "the mind is a powerful thing" in crediting his body's ability to heal

He is making his move to 205 official.

And it all culminates with a press conference/appearance on the biggest Sports News station in the World.

That's pretty cool that Sportscenter is having him do it there. Just goes to show that MMA is becoming more mainstream all the time.

i just caught the end of the interview. He looks healthy but definitley lost some weight. Dana confirmed that Mir vs Carwin will be for the interim title, and the winner of that fight will fight Brock in the summer in a "champion vs champion" match. He also said there is a possibility that the winner of Nog vs Cain could fight Lesnar. Things are looking up for the UFC right now.

Would have liked a more firm timetable on his return, and also if he is, has been or when he will start training. He's been in the gym working out, but actual training was not discussed.

Luckily it seems Wolf's Brock vs Randy II theory is out the window. But of coarse Randy is sniffing around at the 205 title.

Wow this news is better than expected. He looks to be still around super HW status so this hopefully avoids having to fight Couture in a tune up match.

Sweet interview. great news to hear Brock is healthy and coming back but he does look smaller than before. Once he gets back to training full time he will put the weight back on I hope.

He said he lost 40 pounds initially and has gained back 30 of that so far. Seems like he will be around the same size by the time he makes his return. Great news.

Ya. I have always wanted to root for Mir, but never did because I thought he was over valued. Maybe now I can finally like him for the fighter he is.

I agree with what you are saying Wolf, but I actually like Carwin and will root for him, though I think Mir is gonna school him.

What Carwin is good at, Mir has problems with. I just don't know with this fight. Mir shit canned a nobody which is more than what Carwin has done I guess.

I'd never root for Mir, that guy is a fucking prick.
