| http://www.mmamania.com/2010/1/12/1247334/nate-diaz-i-really-dont-think-im"I fought like garbage and I'm sorry to my fans for my performance. I was hesitant about throwing hard punches because I kept thinking he was going to go for a takedown. It looked like I was knocked down in the second but actually he stepped on my foot and when I tried to back out I slipped. I really don't think I'm going to stay at 155lbs. I don't make enough money to have to drop this much weight so I'd like to fight at 170 and only go to 55's every once in awhile. You know if you look at his face compared to mine right now you'd think there was no way he beat me in a fight but I've never been too popular with the judges." | |

| His bro did look a little better at 185, maybe Nate can put some productive weight on that frame and get a little more pop on those pit pat punches. | |

That is his only chance. His punches have zero power. He has the tools to be a top WW with more practice. top 20 that is.

| I'm trying to even think of a good fight for him at 170. Everyone who pops into my head would own this douche bag | |

| I don't like this move. He's losing his biggest asset, his reach, by moving up. WW is just as stacked as LW. If guys like Stevenson & Guida held him down, just think what Hughes, Fitch and Kos could do if they wanted to wrestle him. I hope he fights Hughes. I'd love to see the "smack: talk between those two. | |

| Diaz did drop Maynard so maybe adding some more muscle and strentgh will be a good thing for his career. But yea he will lose his reach advantage factor in most fights at WW. | |

| Nate probably won't beat anyone significant at 170, but there really isn't anyone else for him to fight at 155. I think this is a good move for him, so that he can get more experience and then maybe one day return to 155 an improved fighter. | |

| Ah....the all too common, "look at his face and look at mine" argument. Too predictable. This is the last resort of a fighter who knows he lost and is looking for anything to claim victory. Happens all the time in boxing. Some guys are just bleeders and others are not. Bleeding does not equal being "hurt." | |

| Nate Diaz is overrated by alot of people. I see alot of you believe he will get owned in this weight class as I also believe.
I dont like Nate Diaz, he talks too much shit when he isnt even that good. I want to see him fight Thiago Alves or Mike Swick and get his ass KO'd

| 1)he'll still have a reach adv over most fighters at 170.
2)By adding weight productively he becomes stronger and thus unfair to say "because the 155's outmuscle him the 170's will really outmuscle him".
3)Nate is still way young.
4)The move up in weight has worked well for his brother.

| Nick has a title fight coming up against a very respectable opponent. Hieron lies on the horizon. Possible Lawler rematch.
Plenty of fights for him in SF.
