| Bad Idea, Toney has power to crush a skull and kimbo moves straight ahead with a little repetitive slip and IMO does not have one punch sleepy time power. If however kimbos knee is improved he does have the edge presumably in every other department besides striking distance hand striking ,cardio and footwork | |

| Bad idea in my opion. I dont want to see James toney fight Kimbo at all. In the street yeah but not in the octagon. James has no MMA experience and although Kimbo doesnt have a great ground game I bet he is working on it everyday. James is looking for a payday and when Kimbo won there would be a shit load of excuses from toney. Why waste the time. Dana should sign Seth to fight Kimbo in the rematch. | |

| sure, go for it, why not? They signed Kimbo for the sole reason of drawing in non traditional MMA fans, so a Toney Kimbo matchup fits that bill perfectly. And it's one of the few UFC hwt matchups that Kimbo could win.
It further's the "Dana is a hypocritical clown" idea, but that boat has plenty of cargo already anyway.

| MMA fans would watch it. Boxing fans would watch it. Casual Kimbo fans would wanna see it. It would be a big draw and the stock of the loser would not be affected.
Good idea | |

| Can't call it yet. Who is training Toney, that's all that matters. Kimbo would go lights out in the stand up but what kind of sprawl and grapple skill could Toney pick up on the way to a fight like that. For Kimbo, this is the best kind of fight he can be in. He has no gas tank and is probably one of if not the least talented mixed martial artist on the entire UFC rooster. | |

| Don't under estimate what leg kicks, head kicks, knees, the threat of takedowns, 40 year old reflexes and chin, and the differences in defense and glove sizes between pure boxing and MMA can do to a former world champion boxer's ability to avoid the KO.
I don't think it would be as big of a shock as some to see an MMA fighter KO a boxer in MMA, just like I don't think it would be a shock to see Usain Bolt beat in a 40 yard dash by an AP or Chris Johnson in football pads, cleats and a helment on grass.

| I agree with Ninja... Unless Toney has some BJJ or wrestling background that has been kept from the world, he'll get beat in ugly fashion on the ground... | |

| James Toney has been talking about doing MMA since at least 2007 though. Ryan Hockensmith predicted he would join MMA and make waves in a "what to expect in 2008" article. This indicates he may have been training now for several years in fighting. This is another reason I wouldn't mind seeing what he has. | |

| Another question, Who will UFC put up against Kimbo next? What options are there really. Headhunter, Yvel, Gromley, Hague, Tuchscherer, or another LHW. I will be surprised if it is Toney. I hope it's Buentello. | |

| The UFC could unearth a nobody with an 3-0 record fighting fattys in a local circut or give him another shot vet. Honestly, Stephan Bonnar might be a good choice. | |
