It's not like he couldn't come back as soon as the Olympics ended and take his title back. I would like him to fight Anderson before he takes time off. | |

| I'm with Farmer on this, if he vacates his title he'll just come back and reclaim it. Even if the UFC crowns someone interim champ everyone will know it means nothing because the real champ is GSP. | |

| Farmer I would hope he fights Spider 1st also just because I would want the fight to be clean with no excuses. Time off is just a built in excuse although GSP wouldnt use it as 1. | |

| I would hope that Dana would give some leway here... I mean it's not as if we've never seen an interim title or anything. If anyone deserves the long leash, it's GSP. Ask him to have one more fight at the end of this year... Have an interim title fight mid 2011... Watch it change hands a couple of times during 2011 and 2012 and have GSP fight for unification on the 2012-2013 New Years card... Other welters might be pissed and not like it, but it's not as if any of them have stepped up to prove they are worthy to be called "champion". | |

| Yeah, it would be great if he got gold, but what if he doesn't even qualify for the Olympics? Where would that leave him? I'm glad to see that he's willing to take a chance and try it out. But, if he doesn't make it, then maybe it'll be bad for MMA?
But, I guess he feels like he needs a challenge and I respect that. Hopefully, he goes for it and places at least bronze. | |
