| Not really, to me atleast. They lost Talib and added Revis. Not much of a difference there overall.
Sproles to Eagles is bigger IMO. Him and Shady is a killer combo.

| Denver adding Ware and Talib should be big as long as that defense can manage to stay healthy this year. At this point Talib is an upgrade over Bailey and Ware might not be an every down guy anymore but he can still improve the pass rush. | |

| it's fairly common for players to not get back to their best until the second year after a major injury. i reckon the pats will get a great year out of revis on a 1 year deal.
i was a bit sceptical about the dolphins new GM but so far so good. we've got a pro bowl left tackle for about $9m a year and resigned grimes and starks. i don't know much about the DT we got from the texans but it looks like he's a like for like replacement for soliai.

| Even if Revis is better then last year he won't be much better then Talib, if he is even better at all. If anything it's a very slight upgrade but it's pretty much a push. Long term the lost out on a younger talent that is just hitting his peak. Instead they are hoping to get 1 year out of a guy on the backside of his glory days. | |

I thought there was a bigger difference. They are a year apart, Talib just turned 28 last month and Revis will be 29 in a couple months.

| still,
would you prefer to have a guy on the back end of being a superstar for one year and $12m or do you prefer to have a guy of roughly the same age, who never was a superstar and has never played a full season due to various injuries and suspensions for 6 years, $57m and $26m guaranteed?
i'd happily have either guy on my team in 2014 but there's no question the pats got the better deal here. the only certainty with the Talib deal is that denver will have a big lump of dead money on their cap at some point in the next 6 years.

| The pats seem to always get the better end of the deal. | |

IMO Talib has about 2 more peak years left then Revis. I think you have 3 peak years with Talib and 1 if you are lucky with Revis. Personally I'd much rather have Talib at this point in their careers. 1 injury to Talib could change all that, but how it currently stands I'd much rather have Talib. I do agree that 6 years is too long but not by much. I expect 3 great years followed by 2 more good years.

| I'd of rather had Revis then Talib. Apparently so did the Broncos, their first choice was Revis, their 2nd was Rodgers-Cromarite. Talib was the third choice. Also his deal... remains to be seen if it ends up as a classic paid too much for a guy. | |

I haven't heard that, but makes sense considering Denver is obviously going with the all in right now as opposed to building for the future. They have a lot of guys at the end of their careers they are hoping still have enough left in the tank.

| After just reading an article about the terms of Talibs contract, it really isn't too bad from the Broncos perspective and I might have to reevaluate who got the better deal.
The guarantees are hardly worth the paper they're written on and they can cut him for next to fuck all as long as he doesn't miss the 2015 season through injury.
That isn't to say I wouldn't rather have Revis on my team than Talib though.
