I think if Lombard wins, like via utter smashing, he will get the next shot if Robbie Lawler beats Hendricks. If Jake wins, I see the UFC going elsewhere with the shot. If Lombard wins but Hendricks wins, I see Condit getting the rematch with Hendricks if he beats Tyrone Woodley first.

| I think if Condit wins then he gets the shot period as long as it isn't some boring fight but I don't think it will be . | |

If Lombard wins but Hendricks wins, I see Condit getting the rematch with Hendricks if he beats Tyrone Woodley first. Only way Jake gets any serious consideration for the next shot would be a dominating performance vs Hector. I don't mean a 30-27 with dominate positioning type win. I mean an impressive finish. I expect Hector to win so I think we will likely see Hector vs winner of Hendricks-Robbie then that would likely setup Rory vs Condit rematch for title shot. Matt Brown is sitting there as well and Dong Hyun Kim is working his way into the mix.

| Yeah, I think it would take a winning performance by Jake that I don't believe he possess against a guy like Lombard today.
Matt Brown should be getting a guy like the loser of Hendricks Lawler imo, but he is fighting Erik Silva I heard so he is going nowhere fast.
Dong Hyun Kim is in the same boat as Brown imo as far as standing, it will be either interesting or maddening to see who they throw at him next. He has really made people notice him with his last two fights, which is good because he has been progressing nicely for much longer then that. A rematch with Condit some day would be cool.

I forgot about Brown and Silva. Fun matchup but a dangerous fight for Brown. I forget about Tarec as well at times, kind of wish we could flip things around and have Brown vs Tarec and Silva vs Ellenberger. Still we have a lot of top WW fighting soon so the WW title picture should shape up a bit.

If Lombard wins but Hendricks wins, I see Condit getting the rematch with Hendricks if he beats Tyrone Woodley first. I think this is exactly what would happen. If Lawler and Shields win though they could sell it as a rematch from 2009 in which Shields easily beat Lawler and the champ wants revenge. Anyway I expect Hendricks, Condit and Lombard to win.

i hope he gets knocked out Whiny about what? I have no clue why people hate Hendricks and DC but plenty of people do. A good number of them seem to be non-Americans as well. It's really, really weird to me. I think they are both candid and genuine. They don't give canned answers and they don't have a gimmick. Which is what fans seem to want and I don't get it. But you are right about the title picture. Too many top contenders with upcoming fights to make a definitive statement before seeing how the fights turn out. Whoever has the most impressive win here will likely get serious consideration for the next shot.

how did you arrive at such a definitive conclusion? Rory just lost to Lawler, Condit just lost Hendricks and Woodley just lost to Shields.

how did you arrive at such a definitive conclusion? Rory just lost to Lawler, Condit just lost Hendricks and Woodley just lost to Shields. What about Matt Brown if he beats Eric Silva? DHK is making a run, that KO from Condit was a while ago now. Most deserving is not what usually qualifies for a UFC title shot anyways. Personally I think if Hector wins he will get it but I don't think Jake will. Not saying that's how it should be just how I expect it to be if that happens. I think Condit would likely get the consideration over him, right or not. Especially if Hendricks wins considering how close the first Condit-Hendricks fight was. I think Robbie winning helps Jake's chances though since he has a win over Robbie. So IMO I think for Jake to get serious consideration he would need to win obviously, but also he would need Robbie to beat Johny. That's just my best guess on what the UFC would likely do.

| I agree that Lombard vs Shields probably should be for the next shot. But seems like Jake is the new Fitch. Already lost title fight and Dana isn't a fan so he gets looked over. | |

That's pretty much what I assumed the UFC was thinking.

I'm in this same boat. They are not similar imo. I think they are pretty identical personally. I have never understood the criticism of either of them. Especially considering some of the other fighters that seem to get a lot more support. I have yet to see a single example of a legit reason for being annoyed by Hendricks. Johny and DC seem like very similar guys both in an outside of the cage to me. I think they are extremely similar in how they handle interviews and how the people around them speak about them.

| Hendricks came in at 171.5 pounds, a whole 1.5 pounds over the title fight limit of 170. He has an hour and half to make weight or ....
Time to make a logical life decision. Dropping from 220 to make 170 is gonna always be rough, focus on fitness more then cutting.
***update: if Hendricks doesn't make weight, Dana confirms Lawler can still win the title with a victory.
Pay-Per-View Main Card Johny Hendricks (171.5)* vs. Robbie Lawler (170) – for vacant welterweight title Carlos Condit (170.5) vs. Tyron Woodley (170) Diego Sanchez (155) vs. Myles Jury (156) Jake Shields (171) vs. Hector Lombard (170) Ovince St. Preux (205) vs. Nikita Krylov (205)
Fox Sports 2 Preliminary Card Kelvin Gastelum (172.5)* vs. Rick Story (170.5) Raquel Pennington (135.5) vs. Jessica Andrade (135) Dennis Bermudez (146) vs. Jimy Hettes (145.5) Alex Garcia (170.5) vs. Sean Spencer (170)
UFC Fight Pass Preliminary Card Renee Forte (157)* vs. Frank Trevino (155) Will Campuzano (125.5) vs. Justin Scoggins (125) Robert “Bubba” McDaniel (184.5) vs. Sean Strickland (185) Daniel Pineda (145) vs. Robert Whiteford (145)
*Hendricks, Gastelum and Forte were each given two hours to make weight

| Hendricks made weight on his 2nd try. For some reason Nick Diaz was there trolling him running his mouth. Funny the guy will show up looking for a reaction from the fighters, but won't actually man up and fight anybody. | |
