More sad American rape culture

New girl in town, 14, meets another friend she knew from before who is also new to town, 13. 17 year old HS football player talks them into coming to a gathering.

They're new and want to be part of the new towns social atmosphere and accept, within 15 minutes of their arrival, the team pressures them to blackout territory on cotton candy flavored vodka.

"No" is the response to proposition for sex. Rape is is the rebuttal.

Only one hour after the girls leaving home, a car returns them home. They are dumped unconscious in the driveway in the 22 degree Missouri night in t-shirts and sweat pants. Bloodstained pants from vaginal lacerations. 5am the mother is awoken to scratching on the screen door, she thought it was a dog, it's one of the half conscious girls with frost covering her skin.

At 11am that same morning, police interview the 17-year old football player. He admits to having sex with the girls and also admits in the interview she told him no several times beforehand. Two of his friends are also interviewed and the next day the 17-year old is arrested.

Enter Rape Culture USA. A town against rape, victims.

The 17-year old is a local star football player and his grandfather is very long time elected member of the Missouri House of Representatives.

He is described in local papers as both popular with students and important to the success of the struggling football team.

Despite the 17-year old self incrimination in a official police interview, all charges were dropped unexpectedly in 90 days. It was later revealed by the prosecutor who dropped the case that it would be too difficult to proceed since one of the football players who admitted recording the assault on his phone decided to delete the video even though deleted video recordings are recoverable.

Social attacks firmly point out as fact that these young girls intended to black out, be sodomized, have their genitals mutilated and be left to the freezing AM elements uncontentious because they were just new girl sluts. One of the girls was reprimanded by the school and kicked off of the cheer leading team she made a spot on about a month ago.

A mother of one of the girls was fired from her job as a veterinarian assistant because of "stresses" related to the case.

The Sheriff's office felt the mother was being too difficult and hostile in light of the assault on her daughter and with the local school implored her to just accept what happened and "get over it". "It" being their young daughter drugged and raped and left for dead with the perpetrator who has admitted to the assault free of accountability.

The family left town and their house was burned down shortly after.

This story was buried for a year and a half.

I guess the the college age sister of the football player made social media accounts specifically to bully the two girls to kill themselves.  The girls are both fucked up from the assault a mother claims and have made attempts at their own life.  I get super heated with this crap.  A lot of it because of the whole "culture" idea behind it and the fact a lot of cases like this have been brushed under the rug in the past, who knows how many.

No. This is isn't India, but this shit happens everywhere.

i'm normally very detached when reading stories about rape and murder but this one was particularly difficult to read.

law enforcement needs to come down on this family and community, mississippi burning style.

Recent story in Rolling Stone about a girl who has a party at her house. Party gets out of hand, girl gets black out drunk, wakes up nake covered in magic marker drawings, and finds phone recording videos circulating of guys fondling her while wasted, accompanied by posts of "everyone knows and you'll never live this down".

Mom later finds girl hanging in the bathroom.

Not exactly a rape culture story(though it does border on), but one that I found to be very sad.

Not much different from the Steubenville case. These kinds of things are too commonplace in podunk ass towns where high school football in all they have in their sad day to day lives
