Lack of power is the bigger problem.

| You're prolly right. Not a Le fan, but he would have been relivant if he would have got in the game when he was younger and taken it more serious. Some of his kicks come out of nowhere. He coulda been a contender! Smith has no skills whatsoever. They only reason why he can make a living at this shit is because he has no brains | |

| You're probably a little too harsh on Smith. Certainly not the greatest technician, but you to ahve some level of skill to make it this far. | |

His cardio is what beat him imo. He uses his footwork to stay out of trouble and he couldn't keep up the movement tonight he got too tired. Great job by Smith to hang in there and seize his opportunity.

| Not really. I never rated Cung Le alllll that high but he's still a damn good fighter who's going to kick way more ass than he gets his ass kicked.
This was pretty much what everybody expected. Cung Le destroyed the whole fight and Scott Smith did his trademark clutch KO. Everybody said he had a punchers chance and he closed it out. Scott Smith is the fuckin man.

| Le had the fight under control and to me it looked like he gassed out more than anything and got caught. He is a very good fighter but isnt elite especially after the long layoff. | |

| Le is good at kicking, but he isn't a fighter. He seems like a good guy, but I won't be rooting for him until he takes MMA serious and not just try to get by with the kicks.
Smith is a fighter with heart and good jaw, but he isn't all that great or talented. I'll root for him most of the time because he gives it his all and doesn't give up.

Well the 3rd round in the shamrock fight, Le started strong, Shamrock came on strong in the final minute and a half or so, and then Le capped the round with a rally of his own. The poor conditioning last night was apparent in the 2nd round, and imo a new criticism.

Why is a guy that focuses more on kicks not a fighter, as opposed to a guy who focuses on punches, or bjj? But I do agree on his need to focus on fighting and not the movies. He obviously took a big step down since the shamrock fight, was not in anywhere near the same level in terms of conditioning. And at his age, a baby on the way, the movies, I see him fighting Shamrock again and then riding off into the sunset. I think Lawler, or Diaz would house Le, he has little pop, I couldn't believe how short he looked out there.

| Brutal power kicks by Le. A lot of those can't be effectively blocked, hence Smith getting launched into the fence several times. There is so much power and momentum. Problem is that delivering a KO with those is tough. Probably would of had a better chance breaking smiths bones like what h append to Shamrock. A bigger problem was that Smith was just a better boxer period. Le has skill but it was a matter of survival when things got scrappy close with Smith. Le was to short with the arms and had no counters. | |

| Cung gassed and that is it. If he went and trained with BJ Penn for 6 months he would be a top MW with ease. He was horrible on the ground I admit. NO FIGHTER has deadly kicks like Cung. His judo throws are some of the best. Nam Phan was trained by Cung so that was a stupid comment. Some cardio and BJJ training and Cung beats almost any MW. | |

| he is like machida but now machida finishes fights. He will always be a bad ass but never a champion or a finisher. I think the movies had nothing to do with it. He looked pretty good and gased in the end and got caught by the hands of steel. | |

Le is a guy who has been fighting his whole fucking life and wants to set up a new career since he is closing in on 40. This "he isn't a fighter" business is really misguided.

| I think he is a very talented fighter, but I don't think he takes MMA as seriously as he should. People that don't think he's a real fighter are clearly wrong but a serious Cung Le would put a end to Scott Smith's garbage 2 mins into the 1st. | |

| farmer i disagree here, he is a fighter but he just doesnt have a game that is world class. His positioning and JJ is not par and his punching power is obviously a concern. | |
