| http://www.mmafighting.com/2013/2/11/3977322/miesha-tate-vs-cat-zingano-slated-for-tuf-17-finaleThe second women's UFC fight has finally been booked, and it will take place on April 13 at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale, when former Strikeforce bantamweight champion Miesha Tate faces Cat Zingano. The booking was confirmed by the UFC on Monday afternoon. For the 26-year-old Tate, it will mark her first time back in the cage since defeating Julie Kedzie last August. That was her comeback fight after losing the belt to Ronda Rousey. In a fight with likely title implications, Tate (13-3) should be the favorite in the bout over Zingano, an undefeated 30-year-old who will be making her first start under the Zuffa banner. Zingano is 7-0 and in her most recent fight, defeated Raquel Pennington in an Invicta show. To date, she's shown a balanced game, with three knockouts, three submissions and one decision. This fight is the first women's UFC bout scheduled since the Rousey vs. Liz Carmouche match was set last December. It is the second overall match announced for the TUF 17 finale, following a heavyweight bout pitting Gabriel Gonzaga against Travis Browne. | |

| I thought Tate was taking an extended leave? Is this the only other women's fight book besides the title fight? | |

Tate is a common surname. Is there a more popular fighter out there right now with that name? What fighter popped into your mind when you read the title that made it so misleading? I knew right away who it was referring to.

| http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2013/2/18/4001648/miesha-tate-vs-cat-zingano-pulled-from-ufc-swedish-card- - Quote :
- The fight was pulled because it was felt by Garry Cook, the UFC VP in charge of UK and European operations, that it wasn't suited to the Swedish audience.
Sweden is a new market and there is still some considerable opposition to the UFC among that infamously liberal and ‘progressive' nation's press. Politically it is a very left-wing country and it was only in 2007 that a 1970 ban on professional boxing was lifted.
Alexander Gustafsson has spearheaded the charge into what has proven to be an unexpectedly lucrative market for the UFC, but the potential for the national press to dislike or misinterpret a women's fight was felt to be too high to risk.
