| He was gassed at that point and was probably worried about getting tagged when he got in. Looked like he was afraid of getting KO'd through out the entire fight. | |

That's prob the real answer right there. Side note, when Kimbo had Houston against the fence, I think in the 2nd, he dug in a body shot that really seemed to hurt Houston. Kimbo does not seem to have real KO power, I don't think his shots are quick enough, but he does seem to have big thudding power, and I thought that was evident in that body shot.

| Lets not kid ourselves here. Kimbo has knockout power, it's just a matter of catching someone when they already know what your going to do. Ala Chuck Liddell, except Kimbo's knee's are too shot to effectively sprawl out or absorb the necessary punishment to make a run like Chuck did.
His cardio is also in question but then again he is 34 or so and hasn't been training long enough in a combat sport to have the cardio he should have had already. He was just a bouncer/Bodyguard before hand. Scrapping against untrained fighters in alleys and back yards is a bit different than someone who trains and fights for a living.
But yeah I still say Kimbo has knockout power, it's just a matter of catching someone who knows to cover up good when he gets to throwing thats going to be the problem. I think he should have worked the body a little more when he had a chance, make Houston think twice about putting his hands up to block his face.

| Glass jaw Thompson sure ate alot of clean shots vs Kimbo. He throws hard, there is power there, but i think he lacks snap in his punches. | |

- Now I've seen many people go for a chamora(don't know how to spell that)in that postion ala Nate Diaz but Houston didn't even look to get wrist controll, maybe he was going for a standing sweep? And did anyone else notice that Houston didn't even grab kimbos wrist while he was trying to lock in the rnc, he wasn't even trying to defend it!
Houston is no Nate Diaz. - MMAEYES wrote:
Also Houston didn't put any power behind those leg kicks, drops Kimbo with one anyway and Houston just watches him roll on the mat and get up without even acting like he was going in for the kill.
All this said I realise I could be wrong, but does anyone else find these facts to be odd Must have been some power behind it if it swept Kimbo to the ground. I would have found it more odd If Houston tried to jump into Kimbos guard at that point. If he would have had Kimbo actually hurt I'm sure he would have went for the kill.

You sure as hell don't have to be Nate Diaz or anybody with any kind of training to know that if someones trying to choke you and you've got a free hand to I don't know grab the hand/arm your getting choked by and try to stop it. And your right he's not Nate Diaz so he wasn't going for the chamora(again how do you spell that?) Why did he just give him his back while standing? I've seen good points on here that suggest Houston wasn't paid off. I said before I could be wrong. It is possible Houston is just the stupidest person to ever step in a cage.... I don't know
