| In the second round when kimbo got Alexander on his back, Kimbo looked at the referee and asked what was legal and the ref told him elbows, then Kimbo attempts elbows http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshhSNRB0faER3u22TX3Kimbo can clearly be seen asking ref at 2:40, and if you listen carefully you can hear the ref say "you can use the elbows" 2:43 you can hear ref and then by 2:45 Kimbo drops an elbow Not a conspiracy theorist just had never seen a ref tell a fighter what he could do, only what he couldnt. only beef I have with it is, if you dont know what you can do from mount its your own fucking fault, dont ask the referee, if I was reffing that fight I would have said nothing. If Alexander asks me how to sweep Kimbo should I or the ref tell him? Didnt believe I saw that right until I watched replay and clearly heard the ref tell him to use elbows. | |

| Give him a break it was probably the first time he ever had mount in his life. Also I would like to add even a white belt could have choked Houston out when Kimbo was attempting and failed to perform that RNC. | |

| Definently agree on both Kimbos choke attempts, they were pathetic, Alexander flat out gave him his back and he rolled out of it? But I still havent seen a ref point at a guy and be like use your elbows, it was just weird. | |

| He obviously still has alot to learn. However I thought Kimbo's performance was the clearest examble of improvement by a fighter who went through TUF.
I don't care who the opponent was, the slam was sick.

Yeah that is pretty funny. Instead of buying chickens maybe his coaches shouls have went over the rules a bit more.

| In the heat of the fight u can forget things, EliteXC didn't allow elbows to downed opponents I believe. | |

| I think that the elbow thing may have been due to the Jon Jones fight. He was probably worried about getting DQ'ed like Jones did for dropping illegal blows so he asked to clarify before proceeding... I'm not saying the ref should be coaching fighters in the fight while it's going on but I think it's best to be safe than DQed in your debut. | |

| Kimbo's fight was before that, most likely due to unfamiliarity | |

| Actually, EliteXC allowed elbows to grounded oppoents, except 12-6 just like UFC. That is a Strikeforce thing.
I'll go with Kimbo is the shits even in a dominant position.

| I've watched the fight twice and I can't help but to think Houston was paid to lose. I do hate Kimbo so maybe this is the hate coming out I will admit that before saying anything else but I just feel like Houston put himself in position for that slam. They were getting close to the cage and Houston just gave him his back. Now I've seen many people go for a chamora(don't know how to spell that)in that postion ala Nate Diaz but Houston didn't even look to get wrist controll, maybe he was going for a standing sweep?
Also Houston didn't put any power behind those leg kicks, drops Kimbo with one anyway and Houston just watches him roll on the mat and get up without even acting like he was going in for the kill. And did anyone else notice that Houston didn't even grab kimbos wrist while he was trying to lock in the rnc, he wasn't even trying to defend it!
All this said I realise I could be wrong, but does anyone else find these facts to be odd

| his incessant circling early combined with his lack of interest in following Kimbo to the mat after he kicked out his legs had me think conspiracy as well. | |

| It definitely was strange how Houston fought. That was not his style at all and against Kimbo you'd think Houston would be very aggressive considering that Kimbo's not gonna be shooting for a double let or anything. Strange fight all around. | |

| One of the reasons promotions don't allow the use of elbows, not saying this was the reason for EliteXC, is for insurance purposes. It's a much higher premium for the company if elbows are allowed. | |

Maybe I'm wrong but i just don't see why Houston didn't attack when Kimbo hit the mat.

Not to mention Kimbo got KO'd by Petruzelli in his last real fight. Why not test his chin early? Then again Kimbo rushed Seth, which is what Houston seemed to be waiting for.

| I think the reason he didn't pounce when he got Kimbo down is because it looked half like a slip. Kimbo started checking kicks really late and if you look again he looks like he tries to check that one and is late on the draw and goes down. After he flopped he grabbed for his knee alot like Patrick Cote did in the Anderson Silva fight. I thought the Ref might call the fight on that basis alone, and I think Houston may have thought the same thing. | |
