| No matter who is the winner of the election, there is going to be loads of stuff about voter fraud, fixed ballots and election rigging afterwards, and it has a chance to be real ugly because in today's world, communication+politics makes normal people stupid and angry. | |

| I'm calling it now Obama wins. The only thing being sorted out right now is if it will be a landslide or not. | |

| It seems like Obama would win the electoral college, the public vote though, maybe not.
If that was the case though, I could imagine a scenario where extremism and radicalism is expanded on may levels. There is too much division being fed to the public.

| Even though Gore won the popular vote by half million over Bush, he still lost the electoral college to Bush with the Florida debacle.
If that happened today, with Obama winning, I don't have a lot of faith in this nations civility to the process, even if I don't like 100% myself. I could see a lot of people who have been talking about all of this constitution and 1700's liberty and what not quick to turn and throw the system of the founding fathers under the bus and worse.
If something happens like Florida again on the flip side with Obama losing, I don't know what to expect other then something totally different then what the other would be like.

| There is always shit like that after any election...and i'm pretty sure groups from both sides do what they can as far as cheating. Voter fraud and fixed ballots are not a myth IMO. They are going on somewhere in this very big country. Where it goes on and if it makes a significant difference in the end result is another thing.
As far as fallout..i'm not sure what you are expecting but i doubt it will be an actual shitstorm. Maybe stay away from twitter and the partisan news station(FNC if Obama wins,MSNBC if he loses) for a couple weeks. Just pantshitting like you get from any side when their candidate loses.
I also doubt the whole conservative base is so confident Romney will win that him losing will be like the O.J Simpson verdict. Most conservatives know chances are better that the incumbent will win and it also helps that they arent wild for Mitt Romney. I can actually see the liberals lashing out uncivilized douche bag style because they think Obama's victory is in the bag and the diapers will fill right up with shit if they see Romney is gonna win...but even that's at worse some douchy protest where they vandalize stuff, shit on the sidewalks, do drugs, and provoke police while claiming it's civil until the news stops paying them attention, then they go home. In the end, nobody will do anything that will make a difference.

| Of course there will be fraud. Have you not been paying attention? Acorn? Project Veritas? Gerrymandering in Illinois? | |

I'm obviously not talking about the whole base of any party, but the fringe lunatics who have never had a louder voice and larger audience then they do today. People are talking crazy more so then can be related to any previous modern election because of the access to communication. But I'm also talking about the politicians being overly bold one way or another in terms of reactionary efforts to alter policy.

| There are layers to which the presidential vote matters, but for all other posts it matters very much. Around election time people have a tendency to really get caught up in the presidential election when really who is elected to congress carries more importance. Not enough people focus on that vote. | |

| Our elections are highly exclusionary in most cases unless you accept the notion that there is only one decent choice out of two total options, both of which morph and cater to selected or centered audiences to solicit support. | |

| I had a meeting with my financial advisor today and he informed me that Mitt winning would open up the market and make me more money. I don't like either candidate so that swings my vote. I hope it swings yours as well. I think we all agree that me having more money is what is most important in this election. | |

| I hate them both.....we will be fucked again 4 years from now and who ever is in office will take the blame. One big downward spiral and if we keep changing directions we will never gain any traction. | |

If you hate them both then you can help a brother out by voting for Mitt so I can get a boost in my money.

| Agree with GDP that Obama winning electorate while losing popular would cause a shit storm. Sure it's happened b4, but right wing media would make a MUCH bigger stink.
I'd look at it as if we are 1-1 in such matters, but I'd welcome the fuss cause I hate the whole idea of the electoral college. Here in a firm blue state I feel my vote for Obama is as worthless as vote for Romney would be.

Eh, Market is doing quite well with Obama in control. Did quite well with Clinton in control. Totally flopped at end of Bush's 2nd term. The conventional wisdom of "a Republican is better for the market" has not proven correct over last 20+ years.

Atleast in the areas I need it to. You may be correct as a whole, but when it comes to me as an individual. It's a fact that Mitt would help me financially.

Maybe it will be true, but a possibility cannot be a fact. And very smart men were blind to the housing bubble and market collapse in 2008, so I'm not too quick to believe every word that comes from that direction. Now here is an actual fact, Dow was down around 6500 in the heart of the collapse, and is now double that.

Well my entire financial strategy will change if Mitt is elected. It will allow me to be far more aggressive. They way it has been explained to me is the market has been very grind it out under Obama. If Mitt pulls off the upset I will be back in my financial advisors office within a week to sign some papers and switch up my strategy. If Mitt wins it will allow me to do much more with my money. I guess you can't every guarantee anything in life, but this is about as close as it gets. Things will change for the better for my situation.
