Jill Stein and Cheri Honkala Arrested at Hofstra Debate

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Police say the Green Party candidates for president and vice president have been arrested at the second presidential debate.

Nassau County, N.Y. police say Jill Stein, the Green presidential nominee, and Cheri Honkala, the vice-presidential nominee, were charged with disorderly conduct as they tried to enter the debate site at Hofstra University.

The Green Party says in a statement that Stein and Honkala were walking with supporters toward the Hofstra campus Tuesday afternoon when they were met by uniformed police officers. Stein and Honkala then held an impromptu press conference in which Stein called the debate a "mockery of democracy."

A third person was later charged with disorderly conduct.

Quite frankly, I would like to hear from someone like her or Gary Johnson or someone else that is actually going to be on my ballot in a few weeks, I'd like them to have the chance to address me on a national stage such as was presented to the status-quo parties tonight. They don't have the hundreds of millions of dollars to go and say whatever they want like what is the case for the candidates in our binding two party system.

During the first debate Linked TV would cut away from the debate and allow Stein(pretty sure it was her) and some libertarian guy answer the questions as posed to the candidates. I thought it was totally lame and fast forwarded through it(had it on DVR) but just an fyi that it is out there. Not sure if they did the same with any of the other 2 debates.

I usually would watch network TV for something like a debate and that was not done that I saw. I have never heard of linked TV.

channel 375 on directv. My girlfriend watches it. pretty liberal stuff, lots of world news, al Jezeera et el.
