| http://www.mmamania.com/2012/10/13/3497524/bellator-76-dana-white-eddie-alvarez-lets-talk-ufc-mmaUFC President Dana White seems very excited to potentially finally get his hands on Bellator lightweight standout Eddie Alvarez. He even sent Alvarez a little message last night (Oct. 12, 2012) after his sensational head kick knockout of Patricky "Pitbull" Freire at Bellator 76. By the time Eddie Alvarez's foot had returned to the ground following his vicious head kick knockout of Patricky "Pitbull" Freire last night (Oct. 12, 2012) in the main event of Bellator 76 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, it had already doubled in value. It's no big secret that Alvarez was fighting his last bout on his Bellator contract last night. The Philadelphia native had been with Bellator since the beginning, fighting on the promotion's first card and becoming Bellator's inaugural lightweight champion. Despite losing his title to unbeaten talent Michael Chandler in last year's "Fight of the Year" candidate, Alvarez has likely raised his stock in his two most recent performances, the aforementioned knockout of Pitbull, as well as avenging a loss to elite Japanese grappler Shinya Aoki earlier this year via first round technical knockout. Needless to say, UFC President Dana White was impressed with what he saw last night. Here's what he had to say to Alvarez on Twitter: Former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard also recently left the promotion to fight in the UFC, although his debut didn't go nearly as well as expected, losing a decision to Tim Boetsch at UFC 149. If Alvarez does indeed sign with the UFC next, how do you think he'll perform? | |

| With how often he gets dropped and hurt in every fight he might have a good start but it seems like only a matter of time before he doesn't pop back up from that kind of thing now. I don't quite think he has the tools to challenge for the belt though, he'll be upper middle of the pack or even lower top of the pack but hovering around 8-12 in rankings is about where he'll be I think. | |
