This card looks pretty good. Some pretty interesting matchups.

Jordan Smith is a pretty big step up for Andrey. Wallhead vs. Good is a pretty good bout as is Taleb vs. Zaromskis.

20-18 Zaromskis

Taleb is landing a bit more overall, but Zaromskis is landing some big stuff and winning the clinch game.

30-27 Zaromskis

Landed huge shots, got the takedowns and controlled the clinch game.

Good performance by Z. Larger strikers are typically his undoing.

20-18 Good. Wallhead looks tired out there for a guy who isn't really throwing anything.

I missed half that round but it looked like Wallhead woke up a little, from what I saw Good was still in control of things and throwing more.

I expected Good-Wallhead would have been a very competitive fight. Good dominated him.

Solid card. You would figure with the fighters on the main card we would have got some TKO's but it wasnt to be.

I think Good looks like the front runner in this tournament, but young guys like Koreshkov tend to get better throughout these tournaments going by past Bellator tournaments...and outside of getting his back taken in the second round, Koreshkov looked as good as anybody tonight and he is not likely to encounter another grappler unless his next fight is against his teammate. Most of them being strikers with one grappler who seemed pretty savvy on the ground with solid takedowns(although his opponent was garbage), this tourny seems pretty wide open.

Overall it was an enjoyable card for me. I thought 3 of the 4 tourney fights were good. The only one imo that wasn't was the Good/Wallhead fight. I expected much more. Wallhead gave too much respect to Good's power and never even looked like he wanted to do anything except for small spurts in the 3rd round. I enjoyed the undercard.

Going in the fight I expected to be the best lived up to it for me, the Marius Zaromskis vs. Nordine Taleb

Good will have trouble again when someone takes him down. Almost all the Tiger Schulman fighters have that same exact problem. Was disappointed that Holland lost, she has good standup but thats it.

http://mmajunkie.com/news/30909/bellator-74-ratings-audience-grows-for-season-7-opener-on-mtv2.mma
Things are off to a solid start for Bellator's seventh season, its final one on MTV2.

This past weekend's season-opening Bellator 73 event averaged 190,000 viewers, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with industry sources.

Bellator 74 took place at Caesar's Atlantic City in New Jersey.

The event featured the opening round of the eight-man Season 7 welterweight tournament. Lyman Good, Marius Zaromskis, Michail Tsarev and Andrey Koreshkov all picked up wins and advanced to the semifinal round later this month.

Bellator 74's audience topped the season average for the recently concluded "Summer Series" (180,000 viewers), as well as Season 6 (155,000) and Season 5 (186,000). It also saw a 12 percent improvement over the Season 6 debut earlier this year.

Bellator's current season is the final one on MTV2 before the organization moves to the higher-rated Spike TV, the former home of the UFC, in early 2013.

The all-time Bellator-MTV2 ratings include:

Bellator 74: 190,000 viewers
Bellator 71-73 ratings (Summer Series average): 180,000
Bellator 60-70 ratings (Season 6 average): 155,000
Bellator 49-59 ratings (Season 5 average): 186,000
Bellator 46-48 ratings (Summer Series average): 229,000
Bellator 35-45 ratings (Season 4 average): 204,000
