Chael jumping to the front of the line?

UFC President Dana White famously tried to make the fight one, but was turned down by Jon Jones, who agreed to the opponent, but not to the timing.

Although Chael Sonnnen still has to beat Forrest Griffin in December at UFC 155, with Jon Jones' win over Vitor Belfort last night, the possibility of the fight has resurfaced, and White seems game, and says the fighters are too.

"I can tell you right now, I think they both want that fight," White said following the UFC 152 news conference. "I think there are other fights that make more sense. (But) people do want to see it. If enough people want to see it, I guess I'd have to make it."

"He's going to call out Jon Jones, no doubt, (if he beats Griffin)."

"Everybody talks about Sonnen talking his way into fights. But you know that guy's showing up to fight and win. That's why I don't really have reservations about it. When I called Jon and I thought he was going to take that fight – Chael will fight anybody. That's one of the things I respect about him."

I would think a Hendo/Machida winner and a Shogun/Gustafsson winner would have a problem with it.

Sonnen will lose anyway.

Disagree. Machida has no business getting a shot right now and Shogun could probably use another win before he gets a shot.

I'd say Machida deserves a shot more then Sonnen.

Sonnen needs to win a couple fights first.

Chael will actually make it watchable win or lose.

Bones will make crimson flow from Chael's head with those razor sharp elbows.

Sonnen doesn't deserve a shot at lhw period right now. the idea of them fighting at all was because of short notice replacement, not deserving it. That scenario has come and gone and Sonnen should be far back in line if he is gonna compete for a title shot. Doing it now would be strictly a money grab type situation because all there is to go off of is smack talk.

I'd say Machida deserves a shot more then Sonnen.

I'm not saying Sonnen deserves a shot, but neither does Machida or Shogun.

I think those guys among others deserve it more then Sonnen currently does though.
