He better get hurt fast. Why would Jones accept the fight on short notice the 2nd time around? He didn't take this shit storm just to take that fight on short notice.

I doubt it, that would be a legal nightmare for Zuffa. |

| They could terminate his contract. And might if he did something like that again. Dana said as much. | |

Yeah but Dana talks out his ass all the time. But I seriously doubt he would ever pull the trigger on that. Just like he was never really considering cutting Spider.

Dana's full of hot air, there is no way they are going to fire the best LHW in the world. |

| It is not likely at all of course, but I could see a scenario where that happens if Jones actions were to continue to be at odds with Zuffa's business. | |

Maybe, possibly it could happen somehow, I still don't see it happening. But refusing another fight on short notice won't be enough.

| They legally can't cut him for not accepting a fight on such short notice. |

If Bones flat out refused to face anyone at 152 then yeah I could see some hefty reprimands. If I was Zuffa I'd keep a couple LHW's on notice just incase, someone like Forrest would be ideal to replace Belfort. |

No, but I think they can cut him for that DUI if they wanted to.

But they can strip him of the belt for refusing to defend it.

On short notice? I thought the implication was that something would go wrong with Vitor for 152 and a replacement was brought up that Jones refused to fight. They technically "can" strip him for the shit surrounding 151 but that would have had to be done already. If it happens again at 152 they absolutely have the grounds to strip him. Twice in a month's time would be bullshit for a champion who healthy and fully prepared with a full(and at this point an extended) camp to refuse to fight anyone put in front of him who made weight.

I see your point, but technically say Vitor gets hurts in 2 weeks and they say OK John we have Glover Texiera ready to fight and he says "No, its just 2 short of notice to gameplan for him". I didnt think they could strip him, although he would probably deserve it.

They'll play hardball with him from here on out I think.

| Just like any time you fuck over your boss. To expect any kind of courtesies after that would be ridiculous. You don't refuse to come to work one day and then ask for the weekend off, you know? | |

| They've gone above and beyond for Jones. Essentially created the UFC on Versus shows to highlight him, and right after he got DQ'd, promotes him as their guy by being his main sponsor, advances him to an early title shot, gets his back when he wraps his Bentley around a pole drunk with ho's, ... and all the while people like him less and less almost every time he is given the opportunity to open his mouth. I could see how Zuffa might feel a little slighted by the 151 collapse. More bad from Jones would be bad. | |

I don't see how they can use a DUI that's months old. |
