Yeah listened to that as well. SVP isn't there today, it's Ryan and someone. Maybe Petros? Can't remember who it is with him today? But these guys aren't even aware that Sonnen has been competing at MW. still tho, he's the only one to step up with balls enough to fight on 8 days notice... i believe he knew he would lose, just wanted to get the ufc out of a pickle I personally think it was Sonnen's way of getting an easy payday and inserting himself into the division. It looks good on your resume when you step in on short notice to fight the champ if you ever put together a decent run in the future. Plus it's all profit because he wouldn't be paying for a training camp so much as just getting on weight, assuming he was that much over the 205 limit anyway. Not to mention he had a built in excuse. He would have had zero camp. Who would really blame him if he was blasted in round 1?

He would be stepping into the cage with the best LHW in the world that is coming off a full training camp. He could have suffered some pretty serious bumps and bruises.

| I don't see the lose lose situation for Jones either. If he wins he gets what he wants most, paid. If he losses he gets what he wants most, paid, and he would have an instant rematch no doubt, paid more because of the hype it would create. | |
