i was tuned in to the van pelt show earlier and they were blasting Bones. supporting the crap out of Dana as well, saying how this isn't boxing and the move bones pulled belongs in boxing not MMA

Yeah listened to that as well. SVP isn't there today, it's Ryan and someone. Maybe Petros? Can't remember who it is with him today? But these guys aren't even aware that Sonnen has been competing at MW.

Yeah Jim Rome and Rob Dibble are the only Radio guys I know who have a clue about MMA. Rob is on Fox Sports Radio at night so he always does a bunch of UFC stuff now on his show after the cards are over, he is pretty decent sometimes. Back when the best dams sports show period was on they were always MMA friendly.

still tho, he's the only one to step up with balls enough to fight on 8 days notice... i believe he knew he would lose, just wanted to get the ufc out of a pickle

I personally think it was Sonnen's way of getting an easy payday and inserting himself into the division. It looks good on your resume when you step in on short notice to fight the champ if you ever put together a decent run in the future. Plus it's all profit because he wouldn't be paying for a training camp so much as just getting on weight, assuming he was that much over the 205 limit anyway.
