| Swimming is a very competitive portion of the summer games. Pretty much every country has access to or has the means to provide a swimming pool to it's athletes and this guy took more gold medals than anyone ever four years ago. It's pretty insane. | |

| But is there any other sport that provides more opportunity for metals. Leben is twice the athlete yet he can only get on metal for basketball. Maybe he should get one for dunking, one for dribbling, one for passing, and one for defense. | |

| he's definately in the debate about greatest olympians but he's lucky he's in a sport where you get the opportunity to win more medals than just about anyone else. | |

| Phelps can't be in any GOAT athlete discussion and I don't think he should be in any Olympic GOAT discussion. I think Carl Lewis is a far more impressive Olympian. | |

Why not ? Just my opinion. Carl's 20 years of dominance and gold medals in 4 different Olympics is just far more impressive in my eyes. | |

I'm just always going to personally appreciate the track and field guys more like Lewis and Owens. Just far more impressive feats in my mind. | |
