Why does it matter so much if Tim Tebow can throw or not? isn't the most important thing the W?

Absolutely winning is all that matters, but the Broncos usually won in spite of Tebow, not because of him. They had a good defense, a good running game, and Tebow did just enough to win. I like Tebow. I think he is an inspiration, but you have to be able to throw the rock to win.

You don't think the 4th quarter comebacks were because of him? because before he started the Broncos had a terrible record.

This. Broncos win none of those games without all of the players consistently making important plays. Tebow being part of 4th quarter combacks only exists because the Broncos D kept things close enough for an opportunoty for the offensive team to capitalize on it.

The team definitely rallied around his leadership, but I think it is usually overstated.

Look at the teams the Broncos beat.
6-10 Miami
8-8 Oakland
7-9 Kansas City
8-8 New York (J)
8-8 San Diego
3-13 Minnesota
8-8 Chicago

All games were close and all were average at best. They got trashed when they faced real competition New England, Buffalo, etc... The only exception was Pittsburgh and Tebow threw for 316 yards (a career high, I think).

i agree with this mostly. it's unfair to say they won in spite of tebow though, despite his limitations he turned up to play in the clutch.

the defense and the coaches didn't get enough credit for my liking. the D played well in the second half of the season and the coaches risked their jobs by benching orton and letting tebow run a scaled down offense.

The coaches also tailored their offense for Tebow's strength's which caught some teams off guard big time.

You don't have to be the best thrower and Tebow is a winner.

The problem with being Tebow bad when it comes to throwing the ball is that well coached teams exploit it. That happened to Tebow a few times last season and happened big time in the playoffs after he beat an injury riddled Steelers team.

I think Tebow is a starter but his best asset will always be his legs and his will. If teams take that away..he's gonna have a bad time.

not at all, he can't throw so NFL teams stack the line and put 9 in the box to stuff the run. His playoff win is a prime example, he made a 15 yard pass and the receiver had a corner to beat and thats it. Basically the game plan with him is run the ball run the ball, run some ore, hope the defense is tired and make a move in the 4th.

I guess he is like a better version of Trent DIlfer, except he has no super bowl ring.
