- Yeah of course you guys who hate Diaz had no problem with the fight. Condit getting the nod for that performance is bad for the sport and if that is what is going to qualify as someone winning a fight, I'll just stop watching MMA. It was a pathetic decision. Condit literally turned around and ran multiple times every round. He refused to fight, it wasn't clever defense it was refusing to fight. Nick tried his best to force him to fight, but Condit wanted no part of it. That kind of performance should not be rewarded and if so many people didn't have it out for Diaz it would have been an outrage. There is still a very good % of people who watched that fight and thought Nick won and are just as adamant about it. There is a reason Carlos lost the respect or many fighters and fans that night.
I can put my bias aside. Carlos's performance wasn't anything like Guida's who did indeed run away. Carlos was elusive and fought using long range, crisp in and out attacks. Nick had no answer for someone who refused to stand right in front of him while he outboxed them. It wasn't FOTY or even FOTN but it isn't nearly as bad as you make it out to be.

I think Guida nearly mirrored Carlos' strategy. They were very simlar gameplans and Guida almost fooled the judges enough to escape with another win that would have been a huge black eye for MMA. I'm not alone in thinking that if performances like Carlos are scored as winning performances, the judging system needs to be looked at. But the judging has been a major issue for MMA for some time now. At times it just ruins the sport, this is one example IMO.

| Greg Jacksons gameplans are awful, but he is still a good coach.
Also what was the news Nick had for everyone?

| Future of Nick Diaz
July 27, 2012
It’s been a trying time these last 4 months as I have been faced with the prospect that one of our team’s most talented fighters had decided to leave the sport. As a fan I’ve always admired what both of the Diaz’s brought to the cage; a combination of technical brilliance and raw violence. Nate Diaz has finally put his game together and found the formula to propel him to the top of the 155lbs division. To see Nick leave at the top of his game was difficult. For the last couple of months I’ve watched Nick begin to frequent the gym more and more. He’s training harder now than he has for many of his fights. It was obvious that training and fighting is in his DNA. It is who he is. This week we had a great talk and he made it clear to me that he is ready to get back to the cage. Nick Diaz will return. To address the NSAC suspension, I will say that we have appealed to the courts and if things go our way, it will be plausible that Nick could return as early as sometime at the end of this year. For too long NSAC bureaucrats have acted with malicious incompetence towards the fighters. We will challenge them in court. As far as future opponents, Nick has stated that he would like to take fights “that matter”. Since GSP will be fighting Condit, he has to look elsewhere. He will respectfully ask for a fight with Anderson Silva, a fighter he respects and would like to challenge. Silva’s camp has been speaking of a fight with GSP, possibly even at a catch weight. Nick will take that fight in a minute but has told me that should Silva decide not to drop at all, he will move up to 185lbs to face the Champ. I will be meeting with Dana next Monday August 6th to discuss this and other issues. If you appreciate Nick’s fighting style, please let Dana know that you want Nick back ASAP. Thank you and best regards, Cesar Gracie

| Nick doesn't deserve Andy Silver lol.
Of all the entitlement talk going on at middleweight amongst fighters who have been fighting and earning the right to actually consider challenging Silva, this guy thinks he's worthy of special treatment? What an insulting and spoiled fucking little bitch notion to even make. No surprise though. Everyone, his fans and otherwise, knows what level of character this child has. If he thinks the rules really don't apply to him and he should be getting special treatment over men who are doing the work they should in an attempt to achieve their goals, then I hope karma humbles this idiot in the cruelest of ways.
He shouldn't be fighting. He says he only wants important fights, guess what, if your booked to fight in he UFC, it's fucking important. That he goes out and flat out loses, gets suspended for cheating, knowingly, bitches as usual about how it's everyone's fault but his own while he's sulking on the sideline, then expects to just be granted Silva since GSP and Condit are taken, wow. Get behind that, that is respect.

| I would pay to see Silva's reaction to Nick taunting him in the middle of the cage. |

| did anyone ever think diaz wouldn't return to the cage? it's the only place he can get paid.
who's going to give him millions to mumble through a movie script or be a pretty ordinary boxer?

| Silva vs Diaz? Terrible idea on many levels.
Weed suspension equivalent to Roids? Lame argument.
Condit beat Diaz? Looked fair and square to me. Thus he should not get next at GSP or Silva. As a fighter, I love Nick Diaz, but he needs to fight at WW, and win a fight or two b4 a title shot.

- "They always change the rules on Nick. There’s some collusion to it all. Tyson Griffin tested positive for marijuana. It never came out but the UFC knew about it and he didn’t get a suspension. Diego Sanchez only got a suspension in California for three months. Nevada only has jurisdiction in Nevada so technically you should be able to fight anywhere else because the rules are different in each commission. Nick could fight in Texas tomorrow. Other commissions do not respect the NSAC’s decisions. Vitor Belfort fought Dan Henderson at the [second to] last PRIDE show in Nevada, tested positive for steroids, got a [nine month] suspension and said, ‘I don’t care, I’m not suspended outside of Nevada’ and went to [England] and fought. You know what, no one cared about it, the UFC didn’t care about it when they signed him and he didn’t get any other retribution for it. There have been many examples of this. We want to sort out this whole situation with Nick and get him a fight oversees like other fighters have been afforded that chance. Dana has said in the past the NSAC is the worst commission so we want him to put his money where his mouth is and free Nick Diaz."
Makes sense. No one even knew Tyson Griffin tested positive until after he was cut and that wasn't even the fight he tested positive in.

Makes sense. No one even knew Tyson Griffin tested positive until after he was cut and that wasn't even the fight he tested positive in. Other commissions absolutely respect one another's decisions to avoid exactly these kinds of conflicts. Overseas is overseas. There aren't MMA athletic commissions over there really, at least not in England. Each organization can pretty much make up whatever rules they want. There is no set standard for MMA there. But further to the point even if other commissions didn't respect NSAC's decisions the UFC does because they don't want to get into hot water in an individual state because of any one fighter.
