| For the main card of a ppv each fight should be 5 rounds and title matches should be 7 rounds. Your thoughts? |

| An eight round boxing match is 24 minutes of fighting and most boxing matches are 5 rounds which is 15 minutes. I think it is set-up perfect now. The only thing that needs to change is the scoring system. | |

| Fair points but I don't think 3 rounds really tests a fighters' stamina. If the Tiot-Forrest fight was 5 rounds there 'd be no doubt Forrest wins the fight. |

Bingo. Nothing wrong with how long the fights are now, and the scoring of fights are horribly inconsistant. I hate to sound like a PRIDE homer, but I like the system they used. They fucked up decisions too, but the system is still better. Machida stuffs a couple takedowns and wins. Vera stuffs takedowns all night and loses.

That would suck. Fights would get boring and the guys would gas.

| Yea agreed 7 rounds would be to much, not to many would have the stamina for that. But the scoring def needs an update, first thing that needs to change is the scoring. | |

| 7 rounds is way too much. I still am in favor of 5 rounders of non-title main events. I don't understand the argument that then lessens the impact of a title fight. Fights for the belt in boxing are 12 rounds, same as nearly every other nontitle fight | |

| Maybe in the days of Royce and Saku going about 80 minutes...not in these days where you see guys gas after 3 minutes on TuF. | |

Easy fix is what I've been preaching for years... The UFC needs to quit throwing out weak ass PPV's with no title defenses on a card (But as long as the faithful sheep keep buying, things won't change). No reason with 5 weight classes that there can't be a title fight on every month's PPV event. And IF a fighter has to withdraw due to injury, put the damn card on Spike... Also, what Andrew said is dead on...

Maybe most boxing matches are 5 rds, but no one cares about those fights. The only boxing matches people care about are 10 or 12 rounders, and that would equate to 6 or 7 rounds if fought using 5 minute rounds. And no I am not advocating 7 round fights.

No a fight like Tito vs Griffin would have been 10 rounder 30 minutes not 15

| In NJ the rules state no MMA fighter can fight more then 25 minutes in a night. For that to change they had to rewrite the regulations for it and it's not going to happen anytime soon if ever. | |
