| Agreed. Thats why i was kind of shaking my head the other day when Wolfy was getting all pissed about me cracking about Tito's constant talk of his injuries and the fact that he only brings them up in form of an excuse. Like the Machida fight or his first fight with Forrest. I almost tapped Machida with a hurt leg, or i beat Forrest with a bad back guess what i'll do healthy.
Yeah, i understand his back injury was serious shit but my point still stood about the guy. All he talked about going into this fight was how he was glad he was finally healthy, 100% and going to smash some faces in...and only after the decision went to Griffin he had a buldging disc and his black eye was some big factor.
He may very well been hurt but if Griffin was operating on a broken foot...he wins the excuse battle as well.

| I saw nothing wrong with it. Even Forrest backed him up. He wouldn't have said anything anyway if Forrest didn't mention his foot. |

| The black eye was pretty obvious going in to the fight other than that he was in in tip top fighting condition. |

what crack head judge actually gave him that fight anyway? Not sure, but they need to figure out how to properly train the judges on the nuances of the sport because it's terrible that some of these clueless boxing judges are being given high-profile fights to judge. I've read some horror stories recently on how lost some of these judges are regarding on how to do their job. I''m a boxing guy first and foremost. Always have been, always will be. But even I can see how judges from 'my' sport are making some horrifically bad calls. It's not fair to the fighters, the organizations, and the fans to have people judging these fights that don't even know the sport well enough.

| He put on a great fight, well that is the first 2 rounds he did, looked like he didn't even come out for the third round, and then he who shows up old Tito, who yells at the fans and thinks he is god, man face it you have been away for a year and half and if that was a 5 round fight, Forrest would've KO'd you for sure. Is Forrest back, or is Tito a fighter who can only go 2 rounds. | |

For it to be 10-8 the fighter must either get knocked down or at least be in trouble. Those hits were having no effect on Tito. 1st rd Tito got a couple of takedowns and Forrest did no damage and in the 2nd rd Forrest was covered in his own blood. |

| That isn't a requirement of a 10-8 round exactly, but for a round to be a 10 - 8 round a fighter certainly would need to be in trouble at some point and more than likely multiple points, and knockdowns really help define when someone is in trouble in a dramatic, high scoring way.
I knew I was going to hear it from somebody when Tito started babbling about his back. I guess it's not fixed after all. Now I am really skeptical about his comeback. But as for his display, I thought it was a relief that Forrest stepped in and saved Tito from himself.
I wonder if Tito didn't further hurt himself during the fight, as that third round either comes from an injury or Tito losing his heart. If the latter is the case I am even more skeptical of his come back.
On the flipside, this was his first fight back with just a single fight cycle's worth of training and he still looked competative for most of the fight.

Maybe thats how you score rounds but the real life judges score on points, not damage and Forrest Griffin was the only one scoring in the 3rd round and he was scoring often and Ortiz did no scoring of his own. That is pretty much the definition of a 10-8 round, so it's not ridiculous that a judge that does not put too much in cuts, etc. will give him the round 10-8

| Kings if that was a clear 10-8 rounds then lots of fights would have 10 8 rounds. The reality of real life mma scoring is that 10 -8 rounds are seldom seen, with most cards having none. That degree of rarity indicates to me that there was no 10 8 round seen here. Tito's first round of the first fight was the closet thing to any 10 8 rounds in this series. | |

I'm not really saying i felt it was a 10-8 round, but different judges score it in different ways. I had it 29-28 Griffin. I think the judge that scored it 30-27 saw that Tito was done in the 3rd round, not making any attempt to score and that it was a round completley dominated by Griffin. I think some judges would see that as a 10-8 round and i think we got one of those judges last night because i don't see how all 3 rounds go to Griffin.

| Dana thought a judge was crazy to score the fight 30-27 for Griffin. I scored it that way myself. The 1st round: Tito did land a take down but did nothing with it....Forrest out struck him the entire round. The 2nd round: Forrest was outstriking him the first 2 minutes of the round....was in complete control, Tito got the fight to the ground and was effective this time...but Griffin reversed him with a sweep and finished the round in top position and dropping elbows....I gave round 2 to Forrest....he was in command of the fight....anyone who thinks Tito was winning the fight at this point is crazy or completely over scores a takedown. Round 3 wasn't close. | |

| Amazing how just before the fight he was a 100% with no injuries for the first time in years.... but right after he loses the fight he has disks slipping in his back and other injuries.
As far as 10-8 rounds go Tito vs Forrest 1 round 1 was close. Also Forrest vs Rampage in round 2 or 3 Jackson did absolutely NOTHING and was dominated the entire 5 minutes.
