Frank Mir Gains TRT Exemption in Nevada

NSAC: UFC 146's Frank Mir the fourth fighter to gain TRT exemption



The Nevada State Athletic Commission approved Frank Mir for
testosterone-replacement therapy in advance of his title fight with
heavyweight champ Junior Dos Santos at UFC 146.


Mir is the fourth athletic to get a therapeutic-use exemption, NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).


Middleweight title contender Chael Sonnen, who is currently taking steps
needed to gain approval, is expected to be No. 5 in advance of his
title fight with champ Anderson Silva at UFC 148.


Mir, who began taking testosterone in January, met all the testing requirements after applying in March, Kizer said.


Among those requirements were five blood tests measuring the fighter's
serum-testosterone level. All fell below the normal range expected in a
healthy adult male.


Additionally, Mir was subjected to two urine tests that, among other
things, measured his testosterone-to-epitestosterone (T/E) ratio. Those
fell within the commission's accepted 6-to-1 limit.


Dos Santos (15-1 MMA, 9-0 UFC) defeated Mir by second-round TKO at in
the headliner of UFC 146, which took place May 26 at MGM Grand Garden
Arena in Las Vegas. The event aired on pay-per-view, FX and Facebook.


Afterward, Mir (16-6 MMA, 14-6 UFC) said he couldn't get out of the way
of Dos Santos' punches and gave the champ ample respect. The loss
snapped a three-fight win streak for the former titleholder.


Previous fighters to get a TRT exemption in Nevada include Shane Roller, Todd Duffee and Dan Henderson.

healthy ranges by medical standards are fucking huge (The normal range in males is 270 to 1,070 nanograms)

If these fighters are low i mean actually low it more than likely a result of past anabolic use. I dont feel sorry for chael being low or a 260 mir saying he is low.

My endocrinologist says normal for 21-30 is 500-1200.

I have a feeling Mir has already used before. He buffed up big time after lsoing to Brock

thats still a huge range, you could double the low end and still not be above high range normal

how old are mir,hendo and sonnen??

your suppose to gradually get lower testosterone, what do we need to let Randy coulture ramp up untill he has the test of a 20 yr old?

Oh dude I get what youre saying now. Yeah what they are doing is cheating. I was just thinking about actual medical problems/ranges by ages. It is bullshit to use TRT the way they are.

i seem to recall seeing an interview with him at his house and every time his missus came in the room he'd say something to camera to imply he was some sort of porn star in the sack.

obviously not as much lead in his pencil as he'd like us to believe.

This TRT did wonders for Rampage and Mir in their title fights. It will do the same for Sonnen.
