| Main event started off terrible but picked up.
I think a draw is fair by the 10 point must system. However, i felt Tarver proved to be the better of the two. He only lost any rounds due to his own inactivity which might have been because he expected a different approach from Kayode but when he actually got into the fight he was much better than Kayode. He spotted Kayode a 4-5 round lead and came back after his corner dug into him. Tarver was right about Kayode...his punches look powerful but overall i don't think he landed too many clean ones on Tarver and they look a lot harder than they really are. Tarver landed the best punches in the fight, had Kayode hurt a few times while i don't think Kayode ever hurt Tarver. If Tarver didnt sleep through the earlier rounds he would have blown Kayode out on the scorecards...but maybe he had to take some rounds off to conserve energy.
Tarver is shot though. The battle might have been a stalemate but Tarver won the war as all his criticism's were true and Kayode probably won't fight for Showtime again after his post fight interview..and i doubt HBO will be ringing up his phone.
Winky oughta hang it up for good this time. | |
