| What about champions who never defended the belt successfully? IE Forest Griffin, Rashad Evans, Lyoto Machida, Josh Barnett, Dave Menne, Evan Tanner, Carlos Newton, and Matt Serra? | |

| Forrest for being the first TUF winner, his battle on Spike at the finale, Shogun Slayer and UFC brand-defender and eventually champion is a led pipe lock.
Hall of FAME. It doesn't say Hall of most successful defenses or Hall of was a consensus p4p fighter for x y z years, if we're talking Fame, and importance to the company, Forrest belongs. Period. So does Lesnar.
Any argument predicated strictly on defenses or ability or skill can step the flying fuck off until Frank Shamrock is in this bitch. At this point it is strictly a company-man club.

Machida did defend the belt techinally and Barnett was booted out due the roids issue.

Machida did defend the belt techinally and Barnett was booted out due the roids issue. Machida lost the first fight with Shogun in My opinion, and that was My point. I was only addressing Freak's "everyone who ever held a UFC belt should get in" stance. Hall of Fame should be reserved for people who were more than just a champion once, that's already a select group of fighters.

| Franklin - hate to say it. But no, when the competition arrived , Franklin didnt thrive. Wand - no, he is a Pride HOFer Belfort - no, his title reign was not dominant or even won in impressive fashion Rampage - nope Serra - seriously? no Diaz (Nick) - no Ortiz - yes , his title reign was impressive and he won important fights after losingn the title (Belfort and Bader) Forrest - I guess, but not imo. Did a lot for the sport and won a title Bonnar - one fight does not make a hall of famer Sherk - No, his title reign was not that impressive and he lost to Penn and other better lightweights Florian - seriously? NO Faber - Jury is still out, but no at this point Cruz - its looking like it | |

| The UFC owns Pride and the WEC and carries on their legacies thus the greats from those promotions deserve to be in the Hall of the UFC. | |

Sound Stupid much? Nope. Since the UFC HOF wants to be seen as the MMA HOF is needs to act like it. The only that is stupid to me is the UFC attaching its name and then being selective with MMA history in terms of who is a "hall of famer". To me, that devalues the UFC's Hall because it makes it something unlike anything else in pro sports. The other pro sports don't do this with their halls. The WWE doesn't do this. Boxing doesn't favor individual promoters. There really is no precedent for this. There are guys in the Pro-Football Hall of Fame who never played in the NFL at all, but most played at least some. Some players are in the Pro-football HOF based on their pre-NFL accomplishments. The UFC is Pride. The UFC unified the titles and legitimized the legacies. Pride's history is the UFC's history now. Pride fighters belong in the UFC hall of fame. There will never be a separate MMA HOF that would be allowed to use any Zuffa owned properties. So I don't care for the argument "MMA HOF maybe, not UFC". The UFC is as great as it is today because of promotions like the WEC, Strikeforce and Pride and the great and legendary fighters who fought there. If the UFC is the NFL of MMA, or the WWE of MMA, then lets see them act like those entities do regarding the HOF.

What is likely is the UFC Hall will continue to be just an arbitrary designation for whoever White feels like honoring. I was arguing why that shouldn't be the case based on precedent from comparable Halls of Fame.
