Akiyama signed on to appear on a show similar to Survivor in Korea called "Laws of the Jungle: Season 2". The show will be shot in the jungle for 20 days. Laws of Jungle gained many viewers and has been used as a platform for popular stars of the music and TV shows.
After the loss, Akiyama has been contacted by various movie producers for movie roles both Japan and Korea as his future in the MMA is uncertain.
Insider of the TV show has stated that rising star such as Chan Sung Jung and Dong hyun Kim's names were being considered but due to the shows executive producer's request, Akiyama was contacted. At first Akiyama has declined but he has accepted the offer.
