and it has nothing to do with nationality, it is the mindset of the people, the correct rationale that a heavily armed civilian population is the single greatest deterrent of crime.

and yes i think if America were more pro gun and there were more home owners with guns, crime would go down. No one wants to rob a house where they know everyone is armed to the teeth

in 2010, the NRA estimated 50% of US households owned at least 1 gun, as it is the average american burglar is taking potentially fatal liberties with the law of averages when he robs his 2nd house. they still rob the houses though don't they?

the swiss have a lower crime rate largely because they have a far more sedate culture and they can be trusted not to do anything stupid with their guns. a frankly disturbing proportion of americans seem to think it's not only their right to shoot anyone who doesn't do what they want, but a god given right.

yea has nothing to do with the socioeconomic conditions of those cities, or just the fact gun control measure in those cities makes it harder to own a legal gun and thus the black market thrives and criminals get guns instead of law abiding citizens who have to jump through hoops to get a gun. Nope just the fact that guns exist is why we have crime. Right?

I don't pay attention to politics to much extent because its nonsense but outside of stupid fear-mongering BS by right-wing extremists and the NRA, I'm not seeing where this obsession with Obama and the 2nd amendment is coming from

again, show me where restricting and making it more difficult for law abiding citizens to own a firearm has ever produced lower crime rates, or anything positive at all. Then i'll show you countless examples of tyrants throughout history who disarmed their people before mass genocide and ethnic cleansing took place.

Don't take your rights for granted, you should fight for them actually because they are being taken away more and more everyday while everyone attacks the guy who supports the rule of law and the bill of rights.
