Rob Lowe is taking on another role -- pigskin prognosticator.

The actor lit up social media Wednesday when he tweeted that Peyton Manning was done. Lowe said he'd heard from "my people" that the Indianapolis Colts quarterback would retire later in the day.

official word yet from Manning, the 35-year-old star who missed this
season with a neck injury. ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen spoke
to Manning's father, Archie, on the phone and tweeted: "Archie Manning
laughed when he heard @RobLowe said Peyton will retire, 'Noooo...he
ain't retiring. I think he would've told me.' #NFL32."
Colts spokesman Avis Roper and Manning's agent Tom Condon had no comment.
Lowe
currently is on the NBC show "Parks and Recreation," which is set in
Indiana. He's also friends with Colts owner Jim Irsay -- Lowe was the
first person Irsay followed on Twitter.

He may but I'm not sure Rob Lowe is who I trust with my sports news. lol

Apparenty some people in the media are saying he could wind up with the Jets. With Tressel as the headcoach of the Colts next year I'm starting to wonder what Irsay is trying to do, Peyton will either be retired or traded before he gets the 28 million bonus.

I've heard that about the Jets for a while too.

Peyton has said he's willing to negotiate the 28 with the Colts so either way I doubt they pay that much. I do wonder if he's willing to cut that number with another team. Not sure we'd get him but I'd be more than happy to have him. We need him.

No way it happens. Kub and Peyton would but heads and no way the Texans have cap room or cut Schaub.

i'd love to see him in miami, if we don't lose too many players from the front 7 a healthy manning instantly makes us super bowl contenders.

the biggest obstacle is probably jeff ireland though, ross will spend all that money sending private jets and the when manning gets off the plane he meets that clown and is asked if his mum was a hooker.

Manning to be Cut by Colts tomorrow. Right move. Better now then what very likely could of been a regrettable later.
