Nash played college ball in the States. Rubio is just adjusting to the country.
Steve Nash was drafted on a team that had Jason Kidd in his prime so he didnt get a chance to play much. Kidd's prime was 1996?
He came in the league in like 1993 or something so yeah he was begining to hit his stride. No Timmy. He entered the league in 1994 only 2 years before Nash. His peak wasn't until around 2001. Dude was averaging 17-11 in '98. I say that's when it started. Yes his stats were good but he wasn't elite. In 2001 he went to another level. Not true. He was just as good in 98 as he was in 01 or even 02 & 03 when he switched teams and went to the finals.

Personally, Steve Nash. But I won't hate on anyone picking Kidd.

| Jason Kidd for me but its crazy close. I think Nash could have been a huge scorer if he wanted to and Nash would probably have had the better career if it werent for his back over the years. For those reasons i say Kidd. | |

| Even though Kidd is further up on the 3 list, Nash is a far better 3 point shooter. | |

| Top PG comparison through the first half.
Ranked by key PG #s this year without using preconceived bias (my opinion). Player - APG - ATO - PPG - FG% - RPG
1. Paul - 8.6 - 3.78 - 19.2 - 48.9% - 3.6 2. Parker - 8.1 - 3.13 - 19.4 - 45.6% - 2.9 3. Nash - 10.9 - 2.95 - 13.9 - 54.2% - 2.8 4. Rose - 7.7 - 2.63 - 21.8 - 46.1% - 3.4 5. Williams - 8.2 - 1.96 - 22.2 - 41.3% - 3.5 6. Rondo - 9.5 - 2.56 - 14.8 - 48.5% - 4.9 7. Westbrook - 5.5 - 1.32 - 23.5 - 47.0% - 4.8 (hard to judge because he plays like a 2 and the #s reflect that) 8. Curry - 6.2 - 2.22 - 16.5 - 48.1% - 3.7 9. Ellis - 5.8 - 1.80 - 22.4 - 43.3% - 3.4 (another should be 2) 10. Lowry - 7.6 - 2.49 - 15.6 - 41.7% - 5.3 11. Wall - 7.6 - 1.83 - 16.8 - 42.5% - 5.1 12. Calderon - 8.9 - 4.68 - 11.0 - 46.7% - 3.5 13. Lin - 5.8 - 1.59 - 14.4 - 47.1% - 2.8 14. Rubio - 8.4 - 2.47 - 11.3 - 37.5% - 4.3
This ended up being vary difficult. Kind of surprised how high Parker and Nash are. Especially at this point in Nash's career. Wall being outside the top 10 is a little shocking too. For all the hype surrounding Lin he doesn't stack up all that well versus the top tier.
Back to the point of this thread. Lowry IMO is right ont he cusp of a top 10 PG. This ranking did not factor in defense so once that is added Lowry's stock will go even higher.

True. He doesn't get much help. The next best player on the Rockets is Martin (43.2%) and he disappears worse than Lebron in the 4th.

How about you just keep Artest. The Rockets would have to do this deal. Gasol is the closest thing to a star the Rockets can find.

| http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8132460/toronto-raptors-acquire-houston-rockets-kyle-lowry-sources-sayThe Toronto Raptors have acquired guard Kyle Lowry from the Houston Rockets in exchange for forward Gary Forbes and a protected future first-round draft pick, sources tell ESPN. The Raptors have been talking with the Rockets about prospective Lowry deals for weeks, sources said, and seriously discussed the prospect of swapping the versatile guard for Toronto's No. 8 pick in last month's draft. Lowry, a seventh-year pro, averaged 14.3 points and 6.6 assists per games last year for the Rockets. | |

| Lowry fell off with injuries last year. Still think he's in the top half though. Glad we ditched him since he couldn't get along with the coach. I hope we don't sign Lin. I want the Rockets to suck bad enough to get Shabazz Muhammad or Nerlens Noel. | |
