Kind of a bummer that some of those aren't coming over to the UFC. Kind of messed up that Werdum and Reem get into the UFC but the "winner" of the GP won't get that opportunity.

| They stressed that Diaz and Overeem would stay with the promotion until their contract was up as well.
Melendez will not stay in Strikeforce beyond the Masvidal fight if he wins.If Jorge wins then i can see them keeping Jorge in SF for a couple more fights and keeping Melendez as well. I don't see Rockhod lasting more than the Jardine fight and one other if he wins as well. Barnett, Cormier, Mousasi, Mo and Feijao arent long for SF either.
I am surprised the contract runs so long though. I just hope they keep helping womens MMA grow and don't insult our intelligence by making it seem like they arent going to take all the best fighters as soon as they get even a peep of hype.
I'm happy Coker still has something to do.

| This isn't terrible news at all.
A. it means flat out more fights on TV.
B. it means that Strikeforce remains giving us more multiple high end MMA products.
C. it means WMMA remains under Zuffa.
D. it means that lStrikeforce can also be used to generate new stars for the UFC by giving guys faster exposure before moving them over, creating a sustainable feeder league.
They didn't poach the obviously UFC ready talent in the WEC for several years in different divisions when they needed the stars to float the promotion. So I don't think it is a given Strikeforce won't create and retain new stars for a while. When the market dictates, they'll be moved over. If Strikeforce guys keep coming over and winning huge fights (Diaz, Hendo) it adds more validity to the guys they create.
This isn't Spike but it otherwise is just how I saw this going down back when everyone was talking about the demise of Strikeforce.

| "There's nothing wrong with being a feeder league, but that's not what this thing is designed to be," White said. "Watch and see what we do over the next year with Strikeforce, and you watch the talent that's built over there. The definition of feeder league, to me, would be when guys lose, you go back to the minor leagues, meaning you have to go back down to Strikeforce and we bring you back up. When you lose in the UFC, you go somewhere else and you fight. [Strikeforce] is not going to be a feeder league." | |

| "You're going to have the people who fall on either side," White said. "This guy would beat that guy in the UFC. That guy in the UFC would beat this guy in Strikeforce. I mean, I've got these lunatics thinking that these guys in Japan can win fights over here, for Christ's sake."

| Yea just what I thought. Keeping Strikeforce around, building stars will create more "super fight" opportunities. The precedent has been set. Their champs by in large are not getting immediate title shots. So if a dominant champion or popular contender creates enough buzz in places just like this the UFC will then move them over and give them big main event fights.
Another way to create intriguing main events. I like it. Short of Spike being the channel this is just how I figured it would go when everyone else couldn't see the forest through da trees.

| Wolf you just got lucky, even by Dana's admission this thing was dead in the water at that time. There was no real reason to have faith in the future of SF. There is no possible way you could have guessed that one of the major obstacles at Showtime would leave and create the opportunity for Dana to step in. These things took a complete turn and the thoughts everyone had during the discussion were extremely justified. I will give you credit at the same time saying you got lucky. | |

| The roster was too big, WMMA, no more WEC, an exclusive deal with Fox with the UFC brand. All the real signs pointed to what I said. It went down exactly like I said besides the channel. Be a jellysickle and hate all you want. | |

Eh you get half credit. But luck was on your side for sure. You still lost our bet, it will just take time until it's official.

Wait what? SF could still be on SPIKE? Do you know how bitter the Zuffa divorce with SPIKE has been looking recently? I'm going to blame this on your time off. But there is a less then 0% chance SF will EVA! be on SPIKE. I just wanted to point out that the basic premise of this argument is eroded faced with the fact the network that did winout with Strikeforce and Dana was Showtime of all networks.

I want to point out that you won't get that lucky again and you are crazy if you think SF will ever sniff SPIKE. Just be happy luck was on your side before and leave it at that.

| Luck? It went down basically as predicted and there is still a full year before Bellator can be on Spike. You're a hatah. You're usually better than this. | |

So u predicted 50% less shows per year, about 75% less tv $$$ per year, the removal of it's once premier division? Only reason SF is still alive is Showtime wants to stay in MMA, but literally had no other options. I did not fully factor in the latter half of this.
