If Johnson can win and in the process show what kind of wrestling skill he has, I think it will help determine what his next fight looks like. I think Kos is the #2 wrestler in WW division. Johnson knows how to wrestle but on the ground with Kos, he might get outclassed. If he can wrestle with Kos and not get tooled and get the win by stoppage or unanimous ownage, i would like to see him get his crack at GSP. If its a flash win or snooze win I wouldn't mind seeing him get another win before a title match.

- Why you guys pretend like matt hughes is still the champ and in his prime is beyond me. He's done and against a bigger, stronger, faster machine like anthony Johnson it would end very badly for the old red neck. And i wasn't comparing Anthony Johnson's wrestling resume to Matt Hughes, i was just trying to inform LTFG that he did infact have an impressive wrestling background and wasn't some scrub with no grappling ability. And i guess because his national title in wrestling was for a "community college" it basically means there is no shot that this guy would be able to avoid the takedown by a one dimensional well past his prime Hughes. Ok. Sure.
Why you pretend that Matt Hughes is suddenly a scrub who can't fight is beyond me. Did anyone say he's still in his prime or even a top notch WW anymore?... No. Did we say his ground game is superior to AJ's and his best bet would be to try to weather the storm and take it to and finish it on the ground (Stating the obvious)?... Yes. No one is pretending anything here. We are stating our opinion that we think he wouldn't just be the surefire win for AJ that you think he would be. To me the funny thing is anyone hating on a fighter enough to suggest that he's "done" because he's lost to the best WW in the world twice and the #2 WW in the world (His only losses since BJ in 2004). I guess if you aren't top-3 anymore, you're done!?! Oggy, just relax since this fight won't happen anytime soon. And if and when it does we can all revisit this amazingly insightful topic...

this fight would have a chance of being good, I could see a ko by rumble or a gnp or decision by hughes if he kept position on AJ

| I remember when Hughes used to be considered a big WW but now AJ would wreck him. Matt would not be able to get the take down and get knocked out. We will find out if AJ is ready for GSP at UFC 106 when he faces Kos. If he finishes Kos he should be next in line for a title shot and it would be the first time for GSP going against someone bigger than him that he cannot over power via size which is his main advantage in his fights. Look at him compared to Arlovski. His upper body, hands, etc. | |
