Seems to be a more common subject recently in MMA. How do you feel about them? Which ones do you want to see? Just out of this weekend you have a few fights that bring up this question. Should Hendo rematch Shogun? Eddie vs Chandler? I know it will be a trilogy now but should Faber get his rematch with Cruz? Should Fitch EVER get a rematch?

Pacman vs Marquez rematch? Chael Sonnen is still looking for his rematch.

Well Faber should get his rematch since it will complete the Trilogy. After that they should leave it alone there. Sonnen absolutely deserves his rematch given the way that fight went. At some point you have to believe Fitch should have earned a rematch regardless of how badly he was beaten but he probably won't get it without beating Koscheck.

Just crazy how often the "rematch" is brought up recently. Not saying it isn't warranted in most cases being brought up just seems like it is popping up more then usual at the moment. Alot of big fights that are calling for rematches including boxing's biggest recent fight.

Sonnen deserves the rematch because of how fight #1 went and the lack or contenders in the division.

Faber deserves a rematch because it is one to one and again a lack of contenders.

I don't think Shogun/Hendo or Alvarez/Chandler should rematch at this point in time. The only reason this is bring brought up is because it was close/such good fights. There are plently of other good matches to make.

Fitch hasn't quite earned the rematch IMO. Who has he beaten in the top 10? His last fight was a draw, not a win. Then the guy he drew with goes and gets blasted.

Everyone since 2005 who fought Fedor except Cro Cop and Henderson went on to lose their next fight. It doesn't diminish the fight itself since there was a decently long gap between the fight between Penn and Fitch in February and the fight between Penn and Diaz in October. Kind of an unfair comparison to make.

Unfair or not it looks bad for Fitch when he's trying to position himself for a title shot.

Well Fitch is penalized for many things and if he was a loud mouth like Sonnen or had a more exciting style like Alves he would have had his rematch by now, no question. The whole AKA won't fight Kos thing and the video game rights aren't doing him any favors either.

I typically love rematches.

Sonnes vs Silva is going to be superhyped, and i'll be in on the hype.

We can hope Alvarez works his way through the next tourney so he can get a chance to regain his title. That rematch should be awesome(and I imagine if Eddie loses, he will get a superfight rematch).

Cain vs Brock II is a fight that I would def be looking fwd to. Fedor vs Werdum II is still a fight I'd love to see.

But then there is Hendo vs Rua. And Im not super hot on it, not right now at least. And the problem is, as I noted elsewhere, the first fight was so good, that I feel I would only be letdown by an immediate. I really feel that the legend of the first fight should be allowed to live for awhile. Let it breathe. The drudgery of the 5th rnd might be influencing me as well.

You think Eddie will have to go back through the tourney to get his rematch? He was their highest ranked fighter, held the belt awhile. Bellator is talking about doing away with "superfights" and non-title fights for Champions. I could see Bellator using Eddie as the first fight of it's kind. Who wouldn't be down to see those guys go it at it again right away?

Well that has been their blueprint, that is how they do business, so as of now, I'm assuming they stick with it.

And I actually like that format. Now if they implement an immediate rematch clause for championship fights, I'd be cool with that.

Well I think having a rematch option would be great. Obviously not every Champion is going to deserve a rematch but in this case I don't think anyone would object.

Honestly if Hendo and Shogun rematched it would be a let down compared to this one. Someone would go down and get finished for sure. It's an absolute miracle nobody got finished in this first fight. Next time it's unlikely we'll get something of equal value.

I'd def be cool with it.

Maybe have a fan voting for immediate rematches? But I'd keep the tourney's. No question there. Someone twitter Bjorn.

I wouldn't mind if Alvarez is in the next LW tourney. As long as they get Patricky Freire back in it. Add Imada, Huerta, Pellgrino, Hordeski, Escudero, Jansen, and Woodard in there and you have a very respectable show.

Yeah, I'd be cool with that too. Eddie in there ups the importance of the tourney ten-fold.

would the fighters be over keen to go again?

they've just given each other a life shortening beating, i know i'd be less than enthusiastic at the prospect of pissing blood for a month again.

What would might get is an actual winner though, some closure.

yeah we might get a clear winner but we also might get a 3 minute fight like the last time Shogun rematched someone after a very close decision. It was impressive but much less impressive than the first fight.

I'm all for rematches, the only reasons I would be against a rematch is if it didn't make since as far as ranking and if two fighters have faught three times theirs got to be a damn good reason for the four fight. But for me a previous fight that was very competative is a damn good reason. Also age has to play a factor, when a fighter says he's only got a few fights left they all shouldn't be rematches unless again there is a damn good reason.

On Faber and Sonnen getting rematches- If you question Faber or Sonnen getting a rematch I question your mma fandom nuff said

On Fitch getting a rematch- he should've already had it and it's proof that Dana is a snake

On Shogun/Hendo rematch- Fuck yeah they should do a rematch!!! I can't believe it's even in question, where the hell am I the twilight zone? Someone pass me some tp for all this dodododododododo
