Ellenberger calls out Diaz LOL

"He likes to run his mouth, I don't get him. He just likes to talk and he is what he is," Ellenberger told ESPN.

"He's gonna get his coming against GSP. GSP's motivated, I don't see
what Nick's going to bring to the table. Jake Shields was a more
difficult fight for GSP.

"GSP's a lot faster than Diaz, Diaz has no power, he's not going to
knock him out. He should have finished BJ and he couldn't even do that."

And he thinks he'd walk through Diaz too:

"His slap-box game... I would like to fight Diaz. Ideally I'd love to
fight Diaz, his little patty-cake game he plays, man if he played that
with me I'd put him down for sure, 100 per cent. If you did that where
I come from, you get your ass whooped."

I understand he is just trying to get his name out there but LOL

He did just take out Nick's boy Shields. If I was Nick I'd want to fight Ellenberger after GSP.

Well whoever is line for the title shot is who Nick will fight. Personally I'm rooting for Nick's first title defense to be against Condit.

I still don't think Shields even showed up for that fight, not that Ellenberger wouldn't have won anyway, that I don't know but I feel like it was obvious that Shields head was somewhere else that night. But I feel ya if I'm Nick and Shields is my dude, I'd want to kick Ellenbergers ass and I bet Nick does

I'm sure nick talking stupid BS about how shields wasn't really out and was being rabbit punched had nothing to do with this

yea ellenberger needs to beat a kos, fitch, or rematch condit before he starts calling out Nick. And everything he said has been said before by guys Nick ended up walking through so be careful what you wish for jake.

I think Jake Shields is more than a contender quality win. It's much better than any of Condit's recent wins. Condit is the one who needs to beat a Fitch or Koscheck...or Shields.

Funny how Ellenberger is saying Diaz just likes to talk but here he is talking shit about Nick Diaz completely unprovoked.

Ellenberger has the better wins and more claim to a title shot for sure. Why he's calling out Nick is beyond Me, though maybe he's doing it to stay in shape with a high profile fight he can win while GSP and Condit match up after.

Ellenberger will beat Nick! I said it. Take a ticket though Jake. After GSP mauls Nick and embarrasses him me thinks he is gonna be fighting Mayhem. I think they are both gonna lose and that is a big money fight that DW and Joe silva won't let get away from the fans. If they both lose everyone in the media will start talking about that fight again also, so it's gonna happen. Nick is gonna be getting his ass kicked alot now that he is fighting in the UFC.

I won't say he will for sure beat Ellenberger, but I would put money on Nick. Nick won't fight Jake next anyways because there are bigger fights out there for Nick even if he loses to GSP (WHICH HE WILL!)

DW and Joe Slva will go after the fight with Mayhem soon imo. They may have one other fight before, but I doubt it if they both lose their next fights. If it happens I see Mayhem winning that fight. I do think Diaz will have a losing record in his comeback to the UFC. There are just too many good wrestlers who will win the fight and not fight against Diaz in the WW division. A big fight with Mayhem is looming around and I don't think Nick has what it takes to beat Mayhem.

Like I said though.....I was kidding about Ellenberger.

After seeing Nicks performance against BJ, a fight in which I totally undervalued Nick's ability to work inside and pressure anyone, he's absolutely legit. Easily a top 5 Welterweight in doing what nobody in the last eleven years has been able to do to BJ Penn. Not GSP, not Pulver, not Uno, not Edgar, not Hughes, not Fitch, but Nick beat the shit out of BJ in a way nobody else has.

However, that being said, Nick is going to have a hard time with wrestlers who have sub defense still. He's going to find himself on his back in the UFC's Welterweight division(probably the most heavily laden wrestler divsion in the sport currently). Ellenberger, Stun Gun, Fitch, Koscheck, Rumble, Story, Average Joe, Hendricks, Hughes still, Pyle, Diego, Rory to a degree, and GSP could all give Nick fits with takedowns and top control.

You named 12 guys that could give him fits and he is top 5? His record of late reflects he is top 3 imo. I can still see 4-6 guys at 170 in the world beating his ass in the octagon. GSP is gonna make Nick look bad. Kos and Fitch would do the same. Many others could beat Nick.

His weakness has always been strong top control grapplers with submission defense. All of the mentioned guys have that. Styles make fights.

you don't think Diego does the same thing to Nick again? I do. Diego is extremely hard to submit even from a bad position, and his takedowns are still as good as ever. Rumble is all wrong for Nick with an even longer reach and a strong top game coupled with his size make him a nightmare for Diaz. Stun Gun may get finished in the third when he tires out, but if he can survive the round he wins that fight just like with Nate. Story does to Nick what he did to Thiago in roughing him up against the cage for three rounds. Hughes if he can close the distance and keep from getting cornered can win the fight with Nick. I don't think Nick can "easily dominate" any wrestlers seeing as he hasn't ever done that even once in his career. The closest he ever came to doing that was what he did to Robbie Lawlor who doesn't exactly fit the bill as a true wrestler.
