- The "Thugjitsu Master" meets "El Cucuy."
UFC officials today announced that longtime veteran Yves Edwards (41-17-1 MMA, 9-5 UFC) will face "The Ultimate Fighter 13" winner Tony Ferguson (12-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in a lightweight contest at The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale.
Featuring a headliner between "TUF 14" coaches Michael Bisping and Jason "Mayhem" Miller, The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale takes place Dec. 3 at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
The evening's main card airs on Spike TV. Edwards vs. Ferguson will most likely reside on the televised portion of the event, but an official announcement regarding the bout's position has yet to be made.
The more-experienced Edwards boasts a 4-1 mark in his past five outings. The 14-year veteran fought most recently in an impressive second-round TKO win over Rafaello Oliveira at this month's UFC on Versus 6 event. The aggressive performance helped erase the sting of a brutal knockout loss to Sam Stout at this past June's UFC 131 event.
The loss to Stout is the one blemish Edwards has suffered in his past five outings, and his wins include octagon victories over Oliveira, Cody McKenzie and John Gunderson, as well as a Bellator 24 victory over Luis Palomino.
Meanwhile, Ferguson carries an official five-fight win streak into the matchup. "El Cucuy" won "The Ultimate Fighter 12" as a welterweight, scoring a first-round knockout of fellow finalist Ramsey Nijem. Ferguson then promptly dropped down to 155 pounds, where he scored a TKO win over Aaron Riley after a jaw injury forced the veteran quit on the stool at the end of the opening round.
All five of Ferguson's victories on his current win streak have come by way of knockout or TKO.

| It would be a nice win for Tony Furguson if he could get it over a great fighter like Yves. | |

| He was a nice prospect but never reached the hype. All and all he's a decent vet, but never "great". | |

Splitting hairs man. He had a ton of nice wins over his career and I guess the word great was alittle bit of a stretch but he was more than a nice prospect.

| Still would be a great win for Tony's young career and for his confidence. Yves isnt going to lay down for him so it should be a war. | |

Agreed but it will still be a name on Tony's resume.
