what, Werdum is a high level striker?
Perhaps one dimensional was a bit strong. but only a bit. Excuse me. Please...highlight the part of my post where i said he was a high level striker. Damn capt...
i implied he can hold his own...and he can. I consider one dimensional somebody who can't stand up at all...like Aoki for instance. That's not Werdum. He can utilize leg kicks pretty well. like many he's a high level jj guy with below avg striking.

| Remembering that fight, he almost had Werdum done, until he walked into that guillotine | |

| Kyle landed two pretty clean punches and Werdum took him down and submitted him in like a minute i think...or Werdum fell back and submitted Kyle in a minute.
but Kyle is a strong striker. Thats why he's in the sport..he's better and faster than Werdum in that department. He's not a HW.
I just don't see Werdum has hapless on his feet. He can score points upwards with leg kicks and such. Thats better than one dimensional though against some fighters he may have to resort to his main strength exclusively to have success. He should have attempted to do so against dos Santos but he looked fat and disinterested.

| well I think it's very hard to say someone is almost done moments b4 finishing a fight.
Now shields was almost done vs hendo, but I didn't see a similar moment in the kyle werdum fight.

| OK. I just went back and watched it on youtube.
Kyle caught Werdum leg and landed a shot that buckled Werdum for a split second and then Werdum went for a single leg takedown and got it, but Kyle did a pretty nice roll and actually attempted an armbar on Werdum. Werdum passed it and got side control and then it looked like they were getting back up and Werdum put him in a guillotine.
He never knocked Werdum down and Werdum did not really looked rocked eitheir but aware of Kyle's power and technical advantage that he went to take it to the ground.

| Kyle has close to K-1 striking though. Very fast and explosive. The Kyle fight makes Werdum's striking probably seem worse than it is and Kyles ground game seem worse than it is. I think Mike Kyle is underrated simply because he is usually written totally off when he does have a dangerous skill set. I wonder if he should be counted for these rankings though considering he has been fighting in KOTC lately.
Werdum has held his own striking in a lot of fights, and has stopped Gonzaga twice. His problem is his speed and athleticism isn't the best, but he is improving his skills and adding a decent MT attack. He is kind of like a big Damian Maia.

| Of the guys Wolfy listed. 4 would be legit contendors IMO, Fedor, Grim, AA, Roids in order. Werdum, and Big Foot would be good, not great fighters in the UFC. Add Black Brock to these lists as he develops. Clearly the UFC is deeper, but the gap isn't vast like it is in the LHW and WW ranks. | |

Post'em Will tally up the ranks in 7 days, next Sunday. EDIT : we're all smart enough to do a top 20. If you can't do a 20, you didn't need to be voting anyway. Edit your posts if you have already added ten. EDIT : GDPofGUAM didn't put that ^. If you have something to say then do it in your own post, not mine. This community voted on the issue. A 66% majority said rank 10 so that's what it is. If you wanna rank 20, do it, but only ten receive points for the ranking.

| just a suggestion. but maybe we showed allow the previous p4p ranking to carry some weight in the new rankings.
It bothers me when a guy gets p4p rec, off of one win(mtb, bowles, cruz, etc) and I think that carrying over a previous ranking would help aleviate those situations.
