The Ultimate Fighter 14: Bisping vs Mayhem

The Ultimate Fighter reality television series will conclude it's long run on the Spike network with season 14 set to begin Wednesday, September 21st. The opening episode will be a 120 minute special. The first 8 minutes can be previewed below:

The talent pool at these classes though means it would be hard to screw up a first TUF season.

It is a lot of the same of what we hear every season before it kicks off, 'this is gonna be a super double good season, etc.,.'. this year I tend to think it a little more than others though. The coaches even said they were more of facilitators than teachers, these guys know what is up and just needed direction and planning for a fight. And the untapped nature of the talent pool for a show like this at that weight, could be a good exciting season. I hope it will be.

They did bump up the bonuses for this show. I think you get 25K for finishing a fight on the show.

Pretty sure it was 10K for the past seasons.

Nevermind, I guess it's a different type of bonus they just added. I guess fans will get to vote for the sub/fight/ko of the season and the winner gets 25K

Mayhem doesn't need writers to wind Bisping up, his personality alone will drive Michael up the walls.

Bisping's motivation for this role is to act annoyed and have his irritation turn to hate which will lead to a more "heated" build up to their fight. Otherwise this season of TuF won't work. They know anybody is expecting Miller to act like a clown and Bisping to be the heel that can't handle Mayhem's antics.

Now of course, it's probably not from a script...just bullet points and these two are going to sell it. Miller will have to act more stupid than he normally would and Bisping will have to act like this guy is driving him so crazy...and you're supposed to buy it.

Hell, Bisping might even tear up one of those cardboard doors that are so conveniently placed in the "gym"

Sorry...the opening to the Rampage-Rashad season where they were trading insults was just obviously canned..the divas in WWE can sell a beef better, and Rampage tearing up the door did it for me completely.

TuF was a great concept early on, and because guys like Dana were originally against TuF..they tried to keep it as close to legit as possible with legit talent that are worthy of a given fuck, not over the top coaching beefs(Huges-Serra is when it started getting lame) , and something came out of it.

Now it's low level talent, like Dustin Neace? that guy is a joke. The winners are prelim mainstays at best...this includes Bader IMO...and Shad/Page, Ortiz/Liddell were total spam in a can, i didnt even waste my time even taking one look at Brock-JDS, and now Miller-Bisping are gonna "hate" eachother even though they have absolutely no history and rankings wise...no real reason to be matched up against eachother.

why do people still watch if they're contriving stuff like that?

I watch for the hopes of seeing a good fight, always. I really don't care for the majority of the show. This season being two untapped for TUF weight classes give me the preseason hype. And the fact that these two classes have some crazy action quite often. Success or failure is for after it's said and done.

Starts this week right? I think it's cool that my DVR is still set to record from last season.
