WBO president Francisco “Paco” Valcárcel confirmed today that former world champions Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon and Raul “Rayito” Garcia will collide on October 29 in Puerto Rico as part of the WBO 24th Convention for the mini-flyweight interim title. Valcárcel was in Mexico last week and learned that Moises Fuentes, the WBO 105lb champion, hurt his nose in his win over Garcia last August 27, and “he can’t fight soon. Therefore, Calderon and Garcia will fight for the interim title headlining the card as part of the WBO Convention”.
Peter Rivera, PR Best Boxing Promotions vice-president, said that they are working on a venue for the show, but it seems it will be the Coliseo Mario “Quijote” Morales in Guaynabo.
