| Im not talking likeability or marketability really, even though Anderson clearly has both. Just pure dominance and standing out as clearly the best and most talented to ever compete in the sport.

| yeah, maybe for 2-5 years and then theyll be someone more dominant... mma is still too young for us to talk like this to be honest, 20 years down the line this question will be appropriate | |

| Tough to say yes when GSP has been damn near as dominant. | |

| So Jordan playing for Washington and missing out on the playoffs make him not the goat? |

Jordan retired and then came out of retirement to play on a shitty team. It's kind of hard to compare a team sport athlete to a combat sport athlete.

| Fedor is past his prime though. Chuck lost 5 of his last 6 fights to Franklin, Rua, Rashad, Jardine and Rampage. Does that mean he isn't a contender for LHW goat anymore? Does that mean he isn't even top 5 LHW all-time anymore? |

It means he's absolutely not a contender anymore. The manner in which he lost four of those five fights is why he's not a contender anymore, and why the UFC refuses to let him fight for them again. His legacy is marred by those losses, though. As is any legacy that suffers needless losses because a guy didn't know when to hang it up. The problem here is that with the relatively small amount of fights the average mma fighter has in a career 5-6 terrible performances in the end hurts tremendously.

| Fedor isn't the GOAT because he isn't as good as Anderson Silva. | |

| Anderson won't be the GOAT because GSP is gonna beat his ass. Chael said Fedor's Pride resume was fake so I have a whole new outlook on him. I used to think he was the GOAT. Not anymore. | |

| fedors prime was between 2003 and 2007 wen pride went down. After that people always said the hw division was weak and is barely being restored today. Now people have said the mw division is weak however have had so much respect for guys like nate, vitor and others but still anderson makes them look like noobs. Thales, maia and sonnen wet suppose to last yet the wen more than 4 rounds. Wer they better than nate, franklon or vitor? No , is just that anderson is that great. He can lose any of his upcoming fights and he will still be better than fedor. Only guy who can overtake that spot is gsp who is currently second to anderson with fedor being 3rd and hughes being 4rth | |

| The MW division has always been the weakest division. |

I feel like we've had this same conversation before. Historically Heavyweight was always MMA's weakest division. It's actually feasible that Middleweight is one of the better divisions MMA has had. Several high level fighters in the middleweight division have had success in a division twenty pounds heavier, and the division they moved up into has universally been recognized as the best division in the sport.

| i Anderson also embarassed Forrest and would embarass a lot of other 205er's. I kinda want to see him fight chael again because he was getting killed in that fight until the end, and then jump to 205 and do damage.
I think the new dream fight is Bones vs Anderson. GSP has to fight Condit and then Diaz after he beats BJ.

| UFC MW Champions besides Anderson Silva- Dave Menne Murilo Bustamante Evan Tanner Rich Franklin Yeah that's a great list Besides Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson and maybe Franklin none are great in the MW division since the division was started. HW has Fedor, Big Nog, Cro Cop, Couture, Barnett and Cain. |

| freak, the only rua that would beat anderson would be the rua that beat machida the first time and not the injured one that caught him the second time . I agree as long as rua plays it safe and is not agressive he beats anderson by dec. The lhw in jones does beat the mw in anderson though. Finally, i name all these hws but fedors best wins wer ovet nog and timmy. Aa was just a hype dana was trying to feed us, we all saw what happend to a primed cro cop wen he started fighting in the cage against well rounded fighters/gonzaga. Finally why name barnett, he needs roids to even compete agaist top comp. Plus randy and cain never fought fedor. In the end anderson #1 p4p unless gsp passes him if anderson does lose in his next 2 fights | |
