Anderson Silva fought hurt at UFC 134, took painkillers prior to KO win over Okami

"The Spider" explains to Veja.com:

"As a matter of fact, no. A month before the fight, I hurt my shoulder training with Junior dos Santos and stepped in feeling pain in Rio. I had to take painkillers and advised the Athletic Commission about the medicine I took. I talked to my doctors a lot. I did MRI right after and began to feel pain on the shoulder and the medics released me. They told me that was not too bad. It is a small lesion, in manguito (rotador) muscle I think, but it bothers. I will take some time resting to do the treatment."

Man, a guy coming into a fight with a bruised shoulder. That is a huge rarity in MMA. Thanks for letting us all know Anderson

I think the issue is he took pain killers before his fight. Will be interesting to see if anything come out of it.

Seems like Anderson is fighting hurt all the time now when he does he's a hero yet GSP goes blind in 1 eye in his fight and he's a bitch for making excuses? What's up with that?

Anderson didn't lose his composure, thats probably got something to do with it. GSP went into head hunter mode after getting hurt and lost all semblance of a real gameplan other than to throw haymakers. Don't hate.

If people ask about his injuries cant he be honest after he knocks the shit out of every1 he faces?

No one knew he was injured so how did they ask him about his injuries? He's just making the excuses ready for when either Sonnen or GSP beat him.

I don't recall anyone asking about it after the Sonnen fight, he freely brought it up as soon as microphone was in his face

I prefer the general "fighters are rarely 100% going into fights" response rather than trying to act like you were a hero for even taking the fight

Neither will. Sonnen did every thing he could and still couldnt finish the job and GSP seems perfectly content to never fight Spider.

If a fighter goes into a fight with no training injuries, he is prepared to lose. We have all heard that they are always less than 100% entering a fight, so this is dime store stuff.
