4.) LeBron James: Didn't ever get tipping talents, left $10 on an $800 bill.
5.) Jeremy Piven: Left signed Entourage DVD as tip.
6.) Usher: Once left his autograph as a tip.
7.) Mariah Carey: Famous for diva demands and no tips!
8.) Sean Penn: Left $0 on a $450 tab in New Orleans.
9.) Bill Cosby: Once left a $3 tip on a $350 bill
10.) Rachael Ray: Promotes less than 20 percent tip on her show.

these are mostly based on a one time deal and maybe the server had it coming. I have trouble believing they do this on a regular basis.

Its how people in the service industry get paid.

It is different in other countries but in the US waitresses/waiters essentially live on the tips they make. They also have to give some of those tips to the busboys so the less they get as a tip the less they ultimately make. Because it's a job based on tips the base salary can actually be below minimum wage. Sometimes as low as $5(or less) an hour not including the tips they make.

That said I don't think those are the norm here. Sounds like the service was bad on a given night.

Tiger has a bad rep as a bad tipper. Its more than just a one time thing.

I tip 15-20% for any normal service. 20-100% for good service.

If it's very poor service I'll leave 10%, I just can't leave nothing. Most of the time I leave 15-25% tip. If it's really good I can get in the 40-50% range.

Over here in OZ they make between $15-$25 an hour.

Most of them make up for it in tips. Especially the hot chicks, they can make some bank on tips. My buddies girl worked at a drive-in and got a min of $100 cash everyday for 5 hours of work. Not a bad gig.
