this is blatant treason
they are creating a dictatorship as we speak. I only wish more people understood. Then we could at least fight this. This isn't a left vs right thing. This is a freedom vs tyranny thing.

since March 1962 the debt ceiling has been raised 74 times.
10 times under Bush Jr
your kind of blowing this out of proportion.

It's not the debt ceiling being raised that im really talking about here. Of course it is just going to keep getting raised. That is an establishment given. So is the fact that by not cutting spending and continuing to grow the federal government and add to the national debt is going to lead to printing more money and more inflation, which is where the real problem is. The weakening of the purchase power of the dollar through inflation. It would be much smarter to just admit that we are bankrupt, freeze spending, start working on reducing oversized government programs, reconsidering our interventionist foreign policy, and seriously consider looking at monetary policy of the treasury and federal reserve.
The real problem i have is with this concept of a "super congress". Essentially congress has voted to give up their power to 12 members of the "super congress". This is how ron paul describes it :
“It cedes power to draft legislation to a special commission, hand-picked by the House and Senate leadership. The legislation produced by this commission will be fast-tracked, and Members will not have the opportunity to offer amendments.
“Approval of the recommendations of the “Super Congress” is tied to yet another debt ceiling increase. This guarantees that Members will face tremendous pressure to vote for whatever comes out of this commission– even if it includes tax increases".
This is not only unconstituional, it is the opposite of a free reublic. And if you think this super congress is going to be used for just raising the debt ceiling, your underestimating how little checks and balances and separation of powers means in todays Washington establishment. This is really just a giant leap forward for executive powers and overall centralization of power.

So let me get this right, your main gripe is government just got bigger, when in fact we will have the lowest government spending( i.e. small government (republicans get to claim a victory on that)) since Ike Eisenhower.
Seriously, the lowest government spending since Eisenhower, your first problem is your using comments by Paul as cold hard facts. never a good idea

actually you are being lied to. This bill that was passed actually has no cuts to the federal budget. It actually will raise the debt about one trillion dollars next year. All it did was cut a small perecent of proposed increases in next years budget. Did not reduce any current spending and like i said about a trillion dollars of more spending for next years budget.
If we were serious about balancing the budget, all we would have to do is freeze the budget. Stop the addicition to new programs, especially entitlement programs that promise free goods from the government. Everyone gets what they got last year. We would balance the budget in about 5 years doing that.
