| Nah, BJ's a pure fighter, no need for that noise.
BJ just train like the other guys do and consistently train with top guys.
Best natural born fighter ever IMO

| Fedor by a mile. Never lost all the big fights like Penn did and wasn't squashed by larger fighters until he entered the twilight of his career.
Penn is/was a great natural fighter, but there are a lot of guys in this discussion. I am so over the "Penn for GOAT using ________ metric that justifies XYZ flaw or loss or issue that plagued his career"

| Lost all the big fights? Losing to the greatest WW ever and one of the greatest fighters ever isn't a big deal to me, Hughes.., same thing and BJ owns that 2-1, Machida... natural LW vs LHW no big deal, Pulver another alltime great (dec can be questioned) and he's really 1-1 with Frankie who is as legit as they come. You could nit pick Fedor's resume at this point to.
But this isn't about using some _____metric, not sure what that's about anyways. More just saying BJ is the greatest natural fighter ever, BJJ, Boxing, Wrestling (takedown D), handspeed, weird flexability. His problems are all training related in all honesty, at least IMO. GSP out athleted him to me too. Fedor is right there, but I have BJ's overall natural talent tops.

| The dynamics of that comparison are intriguing. Fedor still my goat but maybe not my best natural fighter. Hw has never been as stout as lw or ww imo, reason bj could not reach the accomplishments of fedor. Fun thoughts. When I'm off my phone I might write a chapter about it. | |

| Penn might have excellent skill but Fedor achieved more. Penn's lack of cardio training cost him a shot at being the GOAT. He didn't have to do steroids to achieve that. |

| Reading my first post it's probably best said like this...
BJ is the most naturally talented fighter ever.
Fedor is the best natural born fighter ever.
It's more of what I meant with BJ.

| BJ has natural cardio issues in that his body cannot remove lactic acid from his muscles very well. That immediately disqualifies him in my mind. Maybe in 05 he still had a case. Not now. Fedor has it all. There are a lot of "natural fighters" and with Penn's issues I can't justify sticking him in the top anymore. | |
