Fitch will only fight BJ or GSP, even if he sits for a year

I'm not a Fitch fan, just a forced Fitch defender. I'm obviously a Nick Diaz fan, however...I think Fitch has earned his 2nd crack at GSP, how you think that fight will play out is irrelevant. When you earn a shot you earn a shot. That is how it SHOULD be. We all know other factors play a part in that and those are the factors keeping him from his shot. IMO Fitch should be fighting GSP, he should have had his rematch already.

He drew with Penn. He isn't owed shit.

Nick Diaz is the most deserving. The fact that Fitch was beaten from pillar to post by GSP in brutal fashion for one sided rounds and has done nothing to show he has truly improved his game makes me yawn at the idea of a rematch. Nick Diaz has been subbing black belts and KOing dangerous MMA strikers in Strikeforce, in addition to taking out former SF MW and UFC LHW champion and legend in Frank Shamrock.

Fitch deserves a fight with Rick Story or BJ Penn.

I completely disagree. Like I said how you see Fitch vs GSP 2 playing out is irrelevant IMO. When you earn a shot you earn a shot. Fitch deserves a rematch even if it means his face looks even worse then the last time(not sure it is possible). When you are proven #2 you should fight the #1. Not whoever can put on the most entertaining fight vs GSP, that is not the standard for getting a title shot, or atleast it shouldn't be.

I don't know how you can say he deserves a fight coming off a draw to a guy GSP has owned over his career. Also the metric for deserving a fight should be whether or not it will be competitive, and not some ambiguous notions of "earned" or "owed".

So then style matchups hold more weight then wins? I disagree with that concept completely. IMO it hurts the integrity of the sport.

GSP already fought him once though. His last fight was a main event against a former WW champion. He did not win the fight. The whining out of the Fitch camp and from his fans rings seriously hollow. Had he beat Penn, he'd be getting the title shot. If he wasn't such a boring fighter to watch and went for a finish more often, he'd also have had another title shot as well.

Fitch should have gotten the decision against Penn, he beat him up badly.

What fans whine about Fitch? I'm not even a Fitch fan but the constant disrespect from the UFC and the fans force me to be a defender. I don't give a shit what fight you think is the most entertaining this man is the most disrespected fighter in all of MMA. Most of the "fans" suffer from BROCK SMASH! mentality that you have suddenly adopted. Entertainment should not be the only factor in match making. In all sports you have productive teams that may not be eye pleasing. But they produce results. Fitch is a proven top WW but obviously just winning is not enough to get his rematch. Maybe if he was British or ran off at the mouth every chance he got he would have got his title shot. But that's just not him.

Diaz is more deserving because he is a fresh contender who just KO'd a top ten fighter and the best WW striker. Fitch already fought him once, was completely destroyed, and just drew with Penn. Rick Story deserves it more because he just replicated Fitch's best win since he fought GSP and is on a six fight winning streak in the UFC. He also before that defeated Johnny Hendrix who is a blue chip prospect with a stellar UFC record.

Kim probably doesn't deserve it more, but at least he has a winning streak.

Also for the record I'm still pretty high on Hendricks and was probably higher on Story pre-Alves then anyone here. I still remember watching him live in Dallas at UFC 103.

Yeah I know others picked him in the predictions. But just saying out of everyone that did GOR(notice the date of my picks) I was the only one willing to pick Story. But it was equal parts thinking Alves was overrated and Story underrated.

I have to agree with OU. Fitch definitely deserves another crack at the title like it or not. The guy is damn near unbeatable and although i thought BJ Penn beat him the judges did call it a draw. If he fights BJ again he will be the favorite and hell if there is any question between him and Nick Diaz let them fight for the number 1 contender spot. Cant see Dana doing that because Fitch might actually win and Dana would probably blow his brains out.
