Instead, the UFC is hoping Cain, JDS and Carwin can have this thing sorted out by the time Overeem, Werdum, Barnett, Rogers and Bigfoot have their thing sorted out. Then look at the super fights. Neither Lesnar nor Fedor are in the HW title picture with the ruinous turns in their careers.

Cain is out until later this year and they have the next challenger in JDS/Carwin lined up. We should see the semis wrapped up in that time, so we're talking the touney hopefully finishing up by March maybe. I could see the Prix winner facing the UFC Champ next summer.

Fedor beats Hendo and Fedor vs Lesnar happens in May of next year with the winner getting a UFC title shot. Heard it here first.

Fedor's stand up is pretty similar to Hendo but Hendo sits back more, while Fedor just swings for the fences. Interested to see how they're wrestling matches up, I can see a Fedor throw or two. Chins both legendary. Probably rolling with Fedor as of now.

If Brock vs Fedor happens, fear for the size effect while others fear the wince effect.

Fedor has faster hands traditionally and a more deceptive standup attack. He can also attack from a much farther range with power punches on the counter than Hendo. Fedor's timing is impeccable. The counter rights against AA and Rogers being good recent examples.


He ran into trouble trying to Zulu bigfoot after having watched the Kyle fight and seeing a vulnerability there, similar to his game plan against Goodridge and Sylvia. Wade in and overwhelm with whipping lefts and rights from hell. It is indeed what most expected including myself. However he ended up chasing the big right hand too much and didn't set it up or do what he does best, sit back and wait for the chance. In the end it was somewhat similar to what cost Machida his title against Shogun. I also think he looked a tad slower. Being made predictable can make you seem slower though.

Two straight fights with mental mistakes costing Fedor. I hope the change in his camp can help him continue to compete now that the door for the UFC is open.
