Anderson, GSP and Edgar. Rib injury after Sonnen, had to pushed Vitor fight back. There was 6 months between the 2 fights which is the standard for the champions. |

He was also injured. He said he was injured, test showed an injury. So I consider him a Champ that also had an injury.

| This should be an entertaining fight atleast. Rashad will have to use his striking here as opposed to hugging stall tactics. Davis is too strong for that shit | |

| loser should fight the Hamill vs Rampage loser. That way we either get the Hamill vs Davis fight we were suppose to get, Rashad vs Rampage 2 we almost got. If Davis and Rampage lose then you can scratch that idea. | |

Rua would lose to Rashad also. Depends if Rua's at 100% it takes time for knee's to heal and Jon Jones isnt a easy fight coming off a year layoff or for that matter even a bruised big toe!

| Only moderately impressed with Davis. I thought he looked poor in the Nog fight, only using his ability to take Nog down is the only reason he won and he had enough problems doing that most of the time. Shad is going to destroy him and it's not going to be close. Phil aint ready for this. This right here is Suga food, nothing more nothing less

| I don't think Rashad is good enough to blow out any of the other top fighters in the division. I think Davis hangs with him for sure | |

Couldnt agree more. I still think he beats Davis but why all the love for Rashad? If he was so amazing he wouldnt have sat out waiting for "his" title shot. Alot of people think Rashad is above Shogun why? Rashad is a great MMA wrestler but his standup still needs to improve to be a dominant fighter.

Davis is one of the top fighters in the division? I thought he looked very average in the Nog fight..his wrestling even managed to fail him in the early portion of the fight...he is one dimensional. He only seemed like another Jon Jones against guys who were strictly strikers and nothing else. Shad has his dimension covered and then some. He has more speed, more athleticism, better striking, more power, seasoned, and he's going to come in looking to make a statement. I guess...if hangs means taking it to a decision..sure...i actually see that before i see Rashad finishing the fight but of course Evans will look to send a message back to team Jackson...Phil has nothing for Shad and is biting off more than he can chew. I don't think Shad is this amazing well rounded fighter all of a sudden..as you know i've been highly critical of his game in the past and that has not changed, but the best guys to fight him are the guys that are better strikers than him and can keep the leg humping to enough of a minimum to beat him on the feet. Machida did it. Rampage and Silva to a lesser extent did it and had their chances, but were unable to shut Shad's wrestling down like Lyoto. Phil might be able to avoid a good cage humping...but he has no ability with his strikes and Rashad is a good striker and i don't see Davis Shadding Shad

| True Kings, he does have to develope but that was his first true test and he won. Alot of people said Little Nog would work him over and it didnt happen. Is Davis a top guy..... i say right now he's a top 10 lhw who has more upside becasue of youth and raw ability then Shad. At this point in his career I give Davis who just a week ago said he wanted to take six months off to develope his game, alot of credit for taking yet another fight on short notice. All that said Rashad still wins lol | |

| I don't remember too many people thinking Nog was going to win that fight. I picked Davis because i didnt think Nog would stop his takedowns, and i think Lil Nog BJJ, atleast from his back is not at great as billed(BJJ players have different games, so im not saying he's not a legit black belt or anything) It's not enough of a threat to keep guys from looking to take him down. If it was..with his striking ability..he would be an absolute stud. The reason Lil Nog has fallen so far down the rankings is because people have learned that his BJJ is not as dangerous as billed...and you know the guard is not a A game because he's looking for a way out of his guard everytime somebody is in it and if one of his sweeps does not work he just lays there and just avoids being hit.
Davis just didnt look good in the fight. I tend to look at fights as a whole. It's just how i like to do it. As a whole..all he did was complete a couple takedowns and hold a position while Nog took a nap...before that he failed countless times to even take Nogueira down and was getting whooped on the feet. If Nog punched with the same intentions he swung against Cain...Davis probably gets finished in round 1..but he was boxing light and trying not to overcommit because of the takedown.
I'm glad Davis recognizes his flaws. He's got a great base and he's an amazing athlete...but he's a fool to take this fight.

| Rashad would be on a 15 month lay off since his last bout against Rampage and can't not get rocked in fights in the last two years. Not saying Davis is all that and a bag of chips, but counting him out is ridiculous. This is better for Evans chances against Bones anyway. He needs a tune up against an easier opponent to shake the ring rust off.
I'd rather see Hendo make the jump and face Evans for an interm title.

| Letter from Dana White to Jon Jones:
Hey champ I want to really teach Rashad a lesson for not listening to me and sitting out for so long, so here is what we are gonna do, you need some time off so you can work on your Superhero image, so we are going to need you to say you have an injury and will be out for an undetermined duration, I'm gonna match him up against someone he should beat but may not and if he loses the fight, well he is no longer #1 contender and he left his camp for no reason, next time when I speak he will know to listen and do as I say, you know if you don't do what I say I can fire you, so.......
Reply from Jon Jones: I don't want to get fired, so I will do it.

Phil might be able to avoid a good cage humping...but he has no ability with his strikes and Rashad is a good striker and i don't see Davis Shadding Shad I still don't have Davis top 10 so I wouldn't consider him a top fighter in the division either but I expect this to be a relatively close fight factoring in Rashad's layoff and Davis' wrestling base. I wish Phil had more time to just work on shit and wasn't thrown right back in there but its a hell of an opportunity. Its been so long since Rashad has fought someone that he will actually want to stand with that I have some questions about that part of his game. He's fast, but has never really been more than a one overhand right at a time guy, especially lately. Plus his cardio late in fights has been eh. If Davis pushes the pace and stays in his face I'll be interested to see what happens

| I dont see how people have rua over shad. If any thing the only way i see rua beating evans is if comes in in the same shape he did against machida in their first fight. If he does come in against evans like he did against machida the first time they met then i so see him patiently breaking down evans and winning by dec after 3 or 5 rds. If he comes in like he did against machida 2/forrest then its evans all day. Also why are people comparing the evans that outstruck page and beat him to the evans that lost to machida. In his fight with machida he was way too cocky from his chuck fight and thought he could play the countering game with the better counterstriker before he even went for a takedown. Anyways i can see davis winning this fight by overpowering shad on the ground and getting an ugly dec. Other than that evans is the better more well rounded fighter of the 2 | |

| I can see how Davis can win this fight, but I do think it is a very good thing that Rashad gets a tuneup fight before the main event with Jones, I don't think Davis can outstrike him, least from what I saw against Lil Nog, I do think he is big enough to give Rashad troubles on the ground the likes he hasn't seen yet. Still how fucked up is it going to be if he loses and loses his title shot, I think White would make him fight his way all the way backup. | |

Jon Jones has confessed he could have fought Rashad Evans, but he opted to sort out an ongoing injury in order to prolong his career.
Just fuckin' with Rashad's mind, this kid knows how to play mind games for sure.

| Mind games?
But think Shad should handle Davis here. He'll be the best wrestler Davis will have faced, he's quicker, and has better hands. Picture how the Nog fight could have gone if he could stop he single. Also, gives him a nice tune up fight especially with his long layoff.
