| We've just seen Daley KO a guy many thought was in line for a title shot.
Rothwell is in a pretty important fight vs a guy who is also in line for a title fight.
Baroni, I can't even believe he's back in the org, but can you imagine if he wins a couple fights?
These were all guys who couldn't hang at the top of the of those other org's.
Just the signing themselves give the non-ufc org's some level of credibility, if any of those guys goes on a mini run it only raises the credibility levels.

| It's not so much about the fighters the org's have as being credible as it is about the people running the orgs. Affliction didn't have a huge roster but it had great fighters. The reason it wasn't seen as credible was because of T-Shirt guy. Strikeforce is a whole different animal. There roster isn't like the UFC's roster but it's pretty decent and they have a great owner according to everyone in the MMA world. | |

| Yeah. Well, those orgs already have credibility with anybody in the know.
Baroni is back because when matched with a guy with a similar style, we'll get an exciting fight...even though we know the end result will be a Baroni loss.
UFC is bringing in guys to help build the fighters they want to hype. Example. Frank Trigg. He had no shot and now look, he's going to get spit out.

Hah, left out trigg, an addition more surprisingly rediculous then Baroni. I don't think these other org's have true credibility to the numerous MMA fans who think all these other org's are double A compared to the UFC's major leagues. People still write off Shamrock's win vs Baroni, and that was when Phil was actually somewhat relevant. How many times do we see "UFC Washout" linked to guys who have left the org?

| Why was Trigg ridiculous? I thought he'd do better than he did. He looked good recently elsewhere. | |

| Koscheck was just KO'd by a nobody. Give Trigg one more fight. | |

| He did better then I thought he could against Kos. I really thought Trigg was going to get KO'd a lot harder then he did. | |

When was Hughes KO'd by Kos? I think he meant Trigg was just as out against Koscheck, as Hughes was out when he fought Trigg for the second time. Only difference is they did not stop the fight? I think that's what he meant.

| Cap, I think the UFC is using these guys and their names to build up their younger talent. Baroni on the surface makes no sense, but Silva is a great matchmaker and if he can create a fight with Baroni and some young stud where they both throw down and create a last image of a great fight, who cares if the name fighter is washed up? It is the sight of them giving their all that people remember, not the record. | |

for alot of the guys I can understand why their doing it(though Baroni is a stretch), and Daley imo was impressive in his match vs Shields. But I still find it interesting cause we so often here the term UFC washout, typically by the UFC huggers who use it in a way to demean a a guy fighting in strikeforce/affliction etc, Babalu, Diaz, and AA for example. I also think it gives credibility to those other org's, especially in Daley's case where he comes in on short notice and KO's a top challenger.

| That makes sense, but if DW could bring AA or Sylvia in on the cheap to make a younger guy like Duffee look good, they would do it in a heartbeat! And just because Daley came from elsewhere doesn't mean he doesn't have value. Where do you think the UFC finds all its talent? They get them from other organizations, DW said he would love to have Gegard or Fedor, but they fight elsewhere. Where do you think they found Duffee? Some small ass MMA independent promotions and word of mouth. | |
