Yes it does represent any number, however it's not the process your using that is the problem, the order in which your doing it is.

48÷2(9+3) is 48÷(2(9+3)). You have to do the parenthesis section first and the 2 multiplied by what's inside the parenthesis is part of that.

48÷2(9+3) is not 48÷(2(9+3)). If it were, it would have been written that way. You do whats inside the parenthesis, and then you divide 48 by 2, then multiply that by the product of whats inside the parenthesis. Thats the order of operations.

2 = 48 / ((2(9+3))

48 / ((2(9+3)) =/= 48÷2(9+3)

48÷2(9+3) = (48/2)*(9+3)

No, not sure. But I'm pretty sure the answer is 2. Been a long, long time since I was in any math class but it was my strongest subject. Most people on here have more education then I do so I won't argue too much.

I'm pretty sure you have to multiply the sum of the parentheses by 2 before you divide.

Yeah I did that, you get 288. Not sure why?

But being the semi-nerd I am. I have already spoken to 2 Math teachers in the last 10 min. Both confirming that using Algebra 101, the answer is 2
