I think he got it wrong, but it was close enough where it isn't crazy that he thought Kos won.

I think he got it wrong, but it was close enough where it isn't crazy that he thought Kos won. But wouldn't this kind of fight be exactly where the experts are needed? A close battle where little technical differences could decide the fight. But ultimately I agree. It was a close fight with a reasonable argument for both sides. He also may have overthought it with his jitters.

When we have a fight that mixes styles and has more aspects of MMA is when an expert is needed IMO.

| Honestly you can make a case either way here. Koscheck got outstruck in almost every round, however one or two rounds were close(first round had 4 strikes difference and the third was exactly even) in volume and he wobbled Hendricks more than he got wobbled. When the totals are close like that and both guys are landing good shots instead of a bunch of jabs and arm punches it becomes a matter of opinion. In this particular case since nobody got dropped by punches, or busted open by punches, or come close to being finished there isn't a "wrong" way to have judged this. It's simply a close fight between two similarly styled opponents where each round was more or less "edged out" by someone. | |
